The RCBS Rotary Case and Media Separator is an essential tool every reloader should have. It makes emptying media from freshly tumbled cases a snap. With several turns of the handle the media falls to the solid bottom of the separator, leaving the cases clean and ready to use and media where it can easily be poured into a storage container.

I read the reviews on a similar product by another manufacture. I wasn't impressed. I went with the RCBS for the following reasons. RCBS's reputation of well made products. The unit is self contained and dust from the media isn't flying all over the house when you are using the rotating separator. No buckets or bucket adapters to buy or mess with. The media can be poured back into your tumbler with ease. The plastic that is used in the manufacturing of this product seems to be of the type that will not fatigue with age or use.Needless to say, I'm very satisfied!

I used a Frankford Arsenal separator for years. The handle broke many years ago, and I just spun the basket with my hands. Finally, I upgraded to this RCBS unit and put the FA unit in the barn. About six weeks later, I'm ready to go back to my FA and put this one in the barn! The hinges on the RCBS separator basket and lid drive me nuts! They either come apart when you don't want them to or won't come apart when you want them to. The basket CAN be overfilled and the basket begins to sag on the axles. My FA unit could not be overloaded. Filled to the top with brass, it was strong enough to handle the load. When I use this unit, I love the fact that the dust is contained and THAT was a good idea. When you close the lid, it keeps dust and dirt out of the separator....good idea, too. However, when I dump the brass/media mix from the tumbler, a lot of the brass falls back into the container with the media. The basket is not stable enough to dump the media/brass directly into it. The RCBS unit DOES separate the media quickly and completely, however.

About every three months I reload hundreds of pistol cases. (9mm, 38spl. 44spl) The media separator saves a lot of time and keeps stray media off the reloading bench. I trust RCBS having used their products for decades. However this separator is made from fairly light weight plastic (they all are), including the hinges. Hence 4 stars instead of 5. So far no problems. We'll see how long it lasts.

Just arrived today in the mail (Saturday!). Seems very well designed. The hinges are just fine people on here need to stop man handeling their reloading gear and buy a punching bag LOL. Solid and strong works GREAT! I love that it traps all the dust and media inside the container neatly to be reused!!! NO MORE DUST! I have allergies so this alone is a BIG PLUS! Would buy it again in a heart beat! Shipping was kinda pricey but WORTH IT!!!! arrived FAST as allways when buying from the best.... MIDWAY USA ROCKS!

This thing is fantastic. It makes removing media from brass so much easier. It takes less than 10% of the time it used to take me to remove the media from the brass. I wish I would've bought this when I started reloading 6 years ago.Buy this thing now, you won't regret it!

This is absolutely the "cat's meow" for serious reloaders! For over 30 years I used the bucket and strainer method which was time consuming and ineffective because after I separated the bulk of the media in a 5 gallon bucket, I would have to inspect each piece of brass and pour out the media left inside the case. What a labor-intensive task! I just received this unit today and dumped 350 .38 Special cases in it, gave a few cranks and WOW, the media was separated from the cases and virtually no media inside the cases. I wish I had bought this unit years ago. What a time and mess saving unit! After using this unit once, I'd pay twice the price for it.

Works really well. Great design. My son discovered a great way to eliminate the media dust from tumbled cases: after media separation, lift the black tumbler cage out of the enclosure and direct compressed air through it. Gets the dust off the cases inside and out. Wear a dust mask though.
