The Crimson Trace Rail Master universal laser sight attaches to nearly any picatinny or weaver-style rail with no modifications. The four fit inserts allow for use with all the most common pistol equipped rails with a minimum of 1-1/16" from the recoil lug. The Rail Master features a 5mW red or green laser with ambidextrous instant tap on/off activation and auto shut off after 5 minutes of inactivity to conserve battery life. The quality that comes with the Crimson Trace name provides the assurance that the Rail Master will perform flawlessly in any self-defense situation. Covered by a 3-year full factory warranty.

Installed on 9mm compact ...

Installed on 9mm compact XD. Aligned easily. I'm a lefty and the ambi on-off is easy to use. Projected laser spot is bright and had plenty of adjustment. Came with adapters for various weapons. The XD compact has about the smallest rail segment I've seen and it fit up like it was made for the little rail.

I'm not sure if I just ...

I'm not sure if I just got a bad one, considering there's a couple of reviews stating that it can hold zero. That was not the case for me. I have it mounted on my 9mm Glock. IT DOES NOT HOLD ZERO. Even when I was sighting it in, the adjustment screws were way too easy to turn. Backs out and screws in with hardly any resistance. You can just slightly twitch your hand while adjusting and the screw turns. Heck, you can breath and the screw turns. Bottom line, it does not hold zero. It is a sub-standard product. Not what I expected from Crimson Trace.

Well I mounted Laser on ...

Well I mounted Laser on my GLOK 22 and it was nice and bright. However when I was ready to sight it in after the first shot the beam went to a point that it was so dim the only way you could see it was to hold your hand in front of it. It seems that the recoil causes it to lose most of the contact with the battery? If you take the battery cover off and put it back on it is bright again until you shoot it again. And sometimes if you fire another shot or two it gets bright again. So I am going to have to send it back. Not much good for self-defense if you can't rely on it.

I have now shot several ...

I have now shot several hundred rounds with the laser attached and yesterday sat at the bench to see just how "on" this laser was now..... hasn't moved a bit...still shoots dead on at 50 Ft. that is how I sighted it in to start with. Haven't had to clean it yet either. Still easy to see in the bright Texas sun. Am ordering another for the shotgun.

It took me less than five ...

It took me less than five min to attach this laser to my Taurus 809. Fit was perfect. Sighting it in was even easier. On a bright sunny day the dot was easy to see. High praise for a red laser. It is so small that the pistol fits into the same inside the pants nylon holster I use for concealed carry with the laser attached. I have only shot about 50 rounds with it at this point but I don't see any drawbacks with this laser
