Crimson Trace has combined three tactical tools (flashlight, laser, and vertical grip) into one robust, easy to use implement. The MVF-515 attaches to the Picatinny rail found on many tactical long guns by means of a CNC machined aluminum mount and tang which forms the "backbone" for the assembly. The flashlight and laser are molded into the right and left grip panels and can be removed and reattached to the aluminum tang without tools. The instinctive activation switches on the grip panels allow the operator to use the laser and flashlight independently or simultaneously. The programmable functions allow the flashlight to be used in three different modes: momentary, strobe, or constant-on. A master switch allows either side to be completely turned off. Two CR123 batteries provide over 4 hours of illumination and over 48 hours of laser use. The MVF-515 grip is available with a red or green laser, the red and green laser module can also be purchased separately to attach to the MVF-515.

This is a very solid and ...

This is a very solid and compact design. The pressure pads feel natural for me to operate. The light is bright enough to eliminate your target, but the laser is what really impressed me. On a dark night out in the country, the laser could be seen easily at several hundred feet. I did have one issue with a pad sticking, which left the laser activated, but CrimsonTrace was very good to deal with and repaired it for me.

I had just upgraded the ...

I had just upgraded the light and forend grip on my POF when I discovered this new handle. I bought it immediately and replaced my new light and handle without a second thought. It is one of the most tactical things I have seen come out for an AR since red dot sights. Well made and extremely compact and gives the rifle a much cleaner feeling than putting all the accessories on individually.

Did not like the ...

Did not like the positions of the activation buttons...they are in unnatural positions relative to how a broom handle grip is held. I returned this product and went with separate rail mounted laser and light, both with adhesive pad activation.

All the accessories that ...

All the accessories that you would ever want to put on an AR wrapped into one. It is a bit pricey but considering you get a light, laser and vertical fore-grip it isn't. Surefire light/fore-grip is about $600 without having a laser. It doesn't add a noticeable amount of weight. Light is bright enough to easily see something 100+ yards away at night. Looking through my Trijicon ACOG I could easily shoot out to 150 at night. The light, lights out far on each side in close counters as well (it's both a flood light & spot light). The laser goes on forever in the dark and shows up remarkably better in the daylight than a red laser. Since it is mounted on the side you have to remember when sighting it in at close range it will shoot left and farther range it will shoot right instead of your typical sighting in of a optic on top of a firearm (up and down). A good way to get an idea of how much it varies from left to right is to point the laser at something about 15 feet away look through your optics and slowly gradually move it to point the laser at something further while still looking through your scope. you will see the laser jump side to side. I found out doing this in a large part of your house gives you a good idea. I had trouble sighting it in at first because I was one time stepping back 10 yards and the next time 20 yards, can't have it exactly zeroed for both distances (I'm talking about an inch). Once you get out beyond 50 or so yards it doesn't drift left to right any further that I could notice. Overall awesome toy to add to the AR with amazing capabilities. Buy the best the first time so you're not stuck wondering what your missing out on. Enjoy.

I would give this 5 ...

I would give this 5 stars. It is a bit pricey, but when you consider that you are getting a grip, laser, and light all in one light compact package it's worth it. I put it on a 9mm AR pistol. I already had all of these things but it was too heavy and busy looking with individual components. The laser only needed a tweak on the elevation to zero and after emptying several drums through it the unit is still rock solid on the rail as well as bang on for point of impact.
