Product Information

The Vortex Viper PST (Precision Shooting Tactical) Rifle Scope comes with features that are typically only included on scopes in a much higher price range. The optics are fully multi-coated and deliver beautiful detail and color while transmitting 95% of available light. The tactical turrets have audible clicks which allow for precise adjustments to windage and elevation and the tube is purged with Argon gas to eliminate internal fogging and extend the life of the optics. Protective lens covers and a lifetime factory warranty are included.

I've owned several USO's, S&B's, NF's, and competed with Hensoldt scopes, so I am considered an optics snob. I can't afford to put $2,000-$4,000 optics on all my rifles, so along comes Vortex with the PST line and offers all the features and reliability of the above-mentioned brands, at an affordable price. Of course the glass isn't Zeiss, but I didn't notice any practical difference in it next to my buddies' NF in a side-by-side. I always keep the 2.5-10x44 on 10x, and it is much clearer than any Super Sniper I have seen without question. The practical advantages one will realize between this and a NF 2.5-10x32 lean totally in the favor of the Vortex PST, plus you have a zero-stop feature that most other scopes simply do not have. The turret clicks are very positive, and you have a tiny fiber optic tube that tells you how many turns you have made. There are 5 Mils per turn, and plenty of elevation. It is very easy to slip the turret caps once you have zeroed, and set your zero-stop shims in place exactly how you want them. The scope also comes with a sunshade, and has illumination with a rheostat with in-between OFF positions. It is in the 2nd focal plane. In my opinion, you can't beat this scope for the price, glass quality, and features that it has. There really are no other scopes like it in this price range on the market right now. Check the reviews on Sniper's Hide, and you will see how they torture-tested these, abused them in ways most people would never imagine, and shot them extensively. They gave Vortex some input on the initial production models, and Vortex stopped production, re-tooled, re-designed, and released the scopes with the suggested improvements from a highly-respected group of precision shooters. Very few optics companies have ever done that.

Has great features, solid scope, clear lens until you get to 10 power then it is not as clear as I would like it to be. I compared it to my Leupold, Burris XTR, Super Sniper and Sightron S3. All were clearer than the PST at 10 power.
