I was somewhat skeptical ...

I was somewhat skeptical about putting it on and where the pistol would shoot. I have seen the interchangeable fiber optic style inserts come out of front sights on other shooters pistols during competition. I bought this one and put it on my g17. I measured the stock front sight width and height and this one was essentially a direct replacement. The fiber optics is encapsulated in clear resin so it will not come out. I have put over 1000 rounds through the gun so far with it installed and lots of dry firing drawing from the holster. It really stands out in the daylight enabling fast sight acquisition. I contemplated the larger .120" fiber optic sight but I am glad I went with the .080" sight. The .080" allowed finer sight pictures and accurate shooting. After shooting some long distances with it 50 yrds + I found that it shot a little high. I don't have adjustable rear sights so I filed a little off the rear sight and drifted it a little to the right to compensate for it shooting left. It is not a night sight and requires ambient light to illuminate the fiber optics.

Put this on a Glock 23 ...

Put this on a Glock 23 for IDPA left the stock rear sight on. Outside this sight works great. Nice bright front sight that stands out well with the white outlined rear sight. Follow the instructions and use a little gun tite when installing and you will not have any trouble with it coming loose. I have been shooting this pistol for while now and have decided to change my Glock 22 over to this sight as well. This sight is really not intended for use indoors in low light conditions, if that's what you want go to a regular night sight.

I replaced the sights on all my Glocks with the HIVIZ front and rear sights. They light up even on cloudy days....awesome product!

I purchased this product ...

I purchased this product to help in low light situations and it is amazing. It is always a bright neon color as long as there is even a hint of light and allows for even faster sight pictures than the stock front sight. I chose to install it myself and it was extremely easy and straight forward to do and has stayed on after several hundred rounds. I definitely recommend using a little lock-tite on the set screw for that extra peace of mind.
