Product Information

Ultramax ammunition represents serious quality for serious shooters. Since 1986 Ultramax has provided top of the line ammunition with a reputation for accuracy, round after round at an unequaled value. All Ultramax ammunition is loaded to SAAMI specs and a visual inspection is performed on every loaded cartridge before it leaves the building.

All Ultramax remanufactured ammunition goes through a 10-Step Quality Assurance System. Once fired brass is inspected for flaws and is washed to clear the primer pockets and flash holes from any debris. Ultramax sizes each piece of brass to the same SAAMI specs as new brass. Remanufactured ammunition is often loaded with mixed head stamped brass. This ammunition is non-corrosive in boxer primed, reloadable brass cases.

I tried 500 rounds of Ultramax 45 ACP 230 gr. round lead nose in my Kimber Super Match II and in a STI hi-cap and found they worked flawlessly, shot accurately and were right about middle of the road when it came to burning cleanly. The brass is reloadable quality and the price is right. I would highly recommend this ammo.

Beware this stuff. It is ...

Beware this stuff. It is re-manufactured- which means scrounged range brass.I bought one and only one box of this stuff around 5 years ago. On the very first trip out with a new Kimber, I had a round rupture. Destroyed the magazine and mangled the remaining rounds. Gun ended up being ok, but my nerves were most definitely not. Would have had ugly eye damage had I not been wearing solid eye protection.The rupture happened right on the web, which means either weakened brass, inaccurate/double charge, or both. Better to spend an extra few bucks than risk it. If you really want to save the cash - pick up some reloading equipment.

Ammo functioned correctly ...

Ammo functioned correctly in my Kimber 45, but it created a lot of leading in the barrel. I cast my own bullets and have never had a problem with leading until I tried ultramax. Also the powder smokes a lot.

Ive shot about 500 rds ...

Ive shot about 500 rds with a high point, yea I know its a cheap gun, but it shoots every time and shoots groups as tight as anybody else can do. This ammo goes bang every time and does just fine for what its made for, but it is a lil dirty and makes clouds of smoke in the indoor ranges. But the price aint to bad and the recoil is smooth.

Was given a box of 50 ...

Was given a box of 50 from a friend that works at a sporting goods store to try out. Had 4 FTF's out of the 50 in my Taurus PT-145Pro (this gun had NEVER jammed on me before in the 8 years I've owned it). Pro's: cheap Cons: very dirty and unreliable. OK for the range, but don't stake your life on it.

Fired out of two Charles Daly's and a Rock Island (yea I know). Not one hang nor misfire. Accuracy good. Not dirty. You could only beat this value by finding some good re-mans.......

This is great cheap ammo ...

This is great cheap ammo for practice. It is very smokey and smells funny. It fed without a single hitch in my Springfield 1911 which can be a picky gun at times. It is also decently accurate.

Was given a box of this stuff by a friend of mine. Out of a box of 50, I had 4 failure-to-feeds in my Taurus PT-145 Pro. (Probably due to the fact that the FMJ was not smooth around the head of the bullet.) Out of the 3 different types of ammo I shot that day (Winchester, Magtech, and Ultramax), the Ultramax was by far the worst. Now problems at all with the other mfr's. Spend a couple dollars more on some better quality ammo.

I have been using this ...

I have been using this stuff for years in 1911 guns and have never really had any serious problems. Every round has always went off and the only real hassle is extra cleaning of the barrel.
