Best solvent yet

This product works awesome. I have used Hoppes #9 for a few years and it is way to slow for my taste. This CR-10 will get your bore brigher like you have never seen before and works quickly. Just make sure you open this stuff outdoors, it has a strong ammonia smell that burns the nose.

Bought this stuff because I noticed some copper fouling in a few pistols of mine. I've had it for a few days and decided to give it a try in my bedroom. Wow, that was a mistake. My eyes were burning, I was coughing, but, it worked! It didn't work as well on my Kel-Tec as it did on my Glock and 1911. Didn't try my Hk. But it works. It works well, just PLEASE use it in a well ventilated area!

Best solvent there for cooper removal, bar none. I shoot very hot 30.06 loads with Berger bullets and they leave a lot of cooper. I have tried Sweets and all the KG 1 2 3 4 and twelve and they just plain will not clean like the Barnes. GREAT PRODUCT!!!

The CR-10 product is the best at removing copper; as advertized. I push-through Windex or a little water on a patch or two, to remove the concentrated residue left after use. I dry the bore with a few dry patches and brake parts cleaner or acetone; then some solvent and oil. This will get both types of (water-soluble and oil-soluble) contaminants out. Why use water?...solutions that contain ammonia are water-based, so they dont mix with oil. A little water will dilute the ammonia a bit and get most of it out; the dry patches get the rest. If an oily patch is run through an ammonia/water-wet bore, the oil will bead-up and the ammonia and crud will remain. If you polish your bore after removing the copper, it will abrade less copper and thus accumulate less (lead too). Ive used this method for 10 years on old and new rifles/pistols, with some success - my guns need far less cleaning now.

Have tried numerous gun cleaning products over the years. This product is by far the best. Use your existing gun cleaner and when you think the barrel is clean, then run a patch or two of CR-10. Then you will know what a clean barrel looks like.

This stuff works great! I have tried other brands. This is by far the best. The last cleaning I did my 30-06 had about 40 rounds though the barrel. I could look at the end of the barrel and see that there was a lot of copper in the barrel after I brushed out the powder fouling with some Hoppe's #9. Using the CR-10 is very simple wet the patch and run it back and forth a few times and let it sit for a minute. After repeating these instructions I had the barrel clean as a whistle after 5 patches. This stuff is the real deal folks. Don't forget to run a oily patch through when done to get all the chemicals out.

I recently picked this up after not being able to purchase solvent locally for several months and was told this was excellent cleaner. I ran a patch down a "clean" barrel and got more powder residue and copper blue coloration on my patches. I did this to several rifles with the same result so I am impressed!This has a VERY strong ammonia concentration, which will make it excellent at cleaning/neutralizing corrosive ammo residues. I cleaned two of my old surplus Mosin Nagant rifles with this and got LOTS of junk out of them that would never come out before. Sure, it smells bad (ammonia), but it works very well.I have been told that you MUST run a good and oily patch down the bore after using this stuff as it strips all oil and rust inside the barrel can be a problem. I use a patch wetted with good 10w30 synthetic motor oil (usually Castrol Edge or Mobil 1) and run it through several times immediately after cleaning, followed by a dry patch. For long term storage, you might want to skip the dry patch until just prior to shooting.I am a big fan of using synthetic motor oil on my guns, especially the semi-auto AR's and such that tend to get hot and cook off regular gun oil. I have been told by friends who are police officers that the stuff marketed as gun oil is junk that couldn't be used for anything else and that it cooks off easily with high temps. Any good synthetic motor oil should work well and I use what I happen to have on hand for my truck, mowers, etc.

CR-10 is the best copper remover I've ever used. Removing copper fouling is as easy as running a few soaked patches through the bore, sure beats scrubbing the daylights out of a bore with a brush. Vert strong ammonia smell, be careful.

CR-10 is great, works quick to get the copper out leaves bore looking like new. (word of caution wipe any CR-10 off wood finish in timely fashion, it is harmful to the finish)
