Product Information

Cor-Bon uses flash-suppressed powder along with skived bullets with scored jackets to offer high-velocity defense loads that expand quickly with high weight retention and without the fear of over-penetration. This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, in boxer-primed, reloadable brass cases.

Feeds and functions great in my Walther PPK/S. Penetration is superb. I shot through 3 five gallon buckets of water. The last one had wet phone books in it. Bullet retention was complete and expansion was great. It made a quarter size hole in books and ended up in the last book.

I thought I was buying the best 380 ACP on the market. I found from shooting a box that they were not performing as well as the cheap federal ammo. The big kicker was I found one round where the bullet had separated from the brass in my barrel. Powder was everywhere in my gun. Let me assure the gun was never dropped or miss treated in anyway. I email CorBon with batch number and never heard a thing from them. I would not bet my life on CorBon 380 90gr. bullets.

I graphed these at 968 fps from a Walther PPK/S. The Speer Gold Dots went 969 fps from the same gun on the same day. The Gold Dots were reliable. The CorBons failed to feed once and smoke stacked twice. The Gold Dots expanded better too.

The Corbon 95 gr. JHP chronographed at the advertised 1050 FPS through my Sig 232 and came in at 988 through an LCP. In both cases the bullet mushroomed through variety of mediums. Penetration was good to outstanding. Other than B.B. I believe this is the most powerful .380 load sold.

Functioned fine in my ...

Functioned fine in my Kahr P380 and have a little more felt recoil than many other loads. I like the crimp in the case at the base of the bullet to resist setback. I don't really know how the bullets work but the ammo is well made and functions just fine. I know several people who use this for their defense ammo.

Shot thru SW bodyguard 380 and Taurus .380; light recoil. Chronograph read 950 ft/sec, energy =150 ft/lbs. no jams; nickel case very smooth cycling.

My Ruger LCP jammed more ...

My Ruger LCP jammed more than half the time on these rounds. The gun does not jam on any other JHP or FMJ ammo. It was very accurate - maybe because I was shooting in an almost single-shot manner. I'll stick with Corbon XPB or Win Silvertips.

It works fine in my Sig P232 Stainless. Recoil is snappy but not abusive. With the .380, I'm happy to get a little extra energy and this round provides it while staying within accepted published pressures for the .380. My P232 is the all steel version, the lighter alloy version should be even snappier but this round should not damage the weapon.

Ammo was 100% reliable in my Browning BDA. Recoil was a bit heavy, and accuracy was worse than other loads have been.
