I read this book 20 years ...

I read this book 20 years ago in six hours straight because, like another reader said, once you start it, you won't wanna put it down! I liked it so much, I read it a second time. The book is about a remarkable man with even more remarkable skills. Buy two of these books. I guarantee, if you loan one out, you'll never see it again!! P.S. GySgt. Hathcock died in 1999.

This is a great book. If you are interested in snipers, Vietnam, or military history this book is for you! Once I finished the last page, I immediately turned to the front and read the book again.

Make sure you have plenty ...

Make sure you have plenty of time when you pick up this book. Once you get started, it is unlikely that you can put it down until you've read the last page. Gives an excellent account of sniper activities in South Vietnam and covers several truly outstanding exploits.

As a "kid", I was "Against the VietNam War". The Draft ended as I was about to be conscripted. Lucky me. But in later years, I became interested in, and pursue precision shooting, much like others (MANY OTHERS!) become interested in GOLF. And I bought this volume for that interest. This book will more than satisfy precision shooters and idealistic individuals who shoot well. But it should be basic reading for anyone in higher education - teaching it or studying it, Democrat or Republican, Liberal or Conservative.Carlos Hathcock was a remarkable human being living in a remarkable time. The honest perspective that this book gives would be of value to any reader.Give this book to someone you think would hate it. You both may be surprised.Also recommended: the volumes by Chandler and Chandler.
