These are nothing like any other Magpul product around. I bought these to check the cycling on my new AR that I built. These weren't cycling well at all. I tried it wil a couple AZoom snap caps and they were cycling great without any problems. I think the polymer material is not suitable to be used in the AR. I really like Magpul products as I have 7 of their products on my AR but this one is a no go.... I am only out $5 so I'm not too worried.

I use these in various AR's without any problems. I don't know how well they will hold up over time, but you can't beat the price..

I have purchased numerous products from MagPul but this snap cap is terrible. It will not cycle and your gun will jam every single time!!! Read my print! JAM every time! I had to take a screw driver to it, yep you guessed it...every freaking time!!! The plastic gets caught in the feed ramps. I even tried oiling it down to no success. Absolutely worthless product unless you are looking to take the tension off the hammer.

I use mine in my Rugar 556 with the MagPul P-Mags it came with. Whether I let the bolt fly forward with the paddle or use the charging handle either be letting it go or riding it slowly, I never get a misfeed. I get the same results with live ammo too. The problem might be with the rifle or the magazine. After several uses, I dont have a single scratch on any of them. These are not good for dry firing. Theyre not like those more expensive Snap Caps with the springs inside. These are ONLY good for diagnosing feed issue. And if thats all you need, theyre great for the price point.

I have really high respect for MagPul and have had great experiences with some of their other products. However, these dummy rounds were just mediocre. They were the cheapest I could find, so as the old sayings goes: you get what you pay for. These are the only things that my Rock River LAR-15 has ever choked on. I have had double feeds when trying to eject rounds quickly, complete failure to feeds, and some of the dummies got stuck half way in the chamber. The heads of the rounds are all scratched up from scraping along (I really hope no scraps were left in my chamber or behind the locking lugs or they'll be pretty well melted on by now) and the firing pin will dimple the ends of the rounds after only a handful or dry fires. I suppose much of this can be attributed to poor technique on my part. The only way to get the rounds to feed reliably is to release the charging handle flawlessly. If you try to ride the charging handle back at all then it will probably jam. This may be a good thing for those of you trying to practice clearing jams and such, but I feel like these are more demanding than any actual ammunition. I have fired all sorts of crummy ammo, including steel case (hey, ammo is expensive), and have never had an issue like with these.
