Product is well built and seems durable, but be aware that this rest will add approximately an inch to the comb of your rifle stock! I guess I didn't understand by just looking at the picture, but the whole black rectangle that is sewn on top is filled with firm/hard foam. So you get a one inch piece of hard foam on top of your stock. The product description doesn't mention this, but it is obvious in the picture once you know what you're looking at. If you need tons of comb height, I'm sure this will be a great product for you. If your looking for more of a pad type that will add 1/4"-1/2" then keep looking, this isn't it.

I must say I had high ...

I must say I had high hopes for this cheek-rest, and it disappointed me greatly.Pros: it's cheap.Cons: - it's inconvenient to install; - it was next to impossible to properly tighten on a Rem 700 butt stock; - it interferes with bolt removal; - finally, it's VERY UNCOMFORTABLE to use.If it's the only cheek-rest you can get - I don't know: it didn't work for me, it might work for you.If you compare it to Eagle Cheek-Pad - day and night. I got Eagle and never looked back. Pros of Eagle - everything; cons - it costs about four times more. Was worth every penny for me.

I got this for my ruger 10/22 also and it fits really nice. Its pretty stable its not like you push your cheek on it really hard for it to move around. Well made product, with this being on my gun it now makes it look like a cool tactical sniper rifle. But with that said, don't get it just for looks. I got it beacuse of my scope rings being a bit high because of my objective lens on my scope.

Very disappointed. ...

Very disappointed. Blackhawk should take this one back to the drawing board. It was way too big to lace up tight on my Ruger 10/22 and there should be a cord lock included to make getting it tight possible. Also one needs some double sided tape to make it stable and for the price this should be included. Lastly, the cheek weld was very uncomfortable. I am ready to go back to my foam and duct tape that was way ugly but the cheek weld was comfortable as all get out.

I originally got this cheek pad for a scoped M1 Garand, but I never got around to finishing the project so I put the pad on my CVA Accura muzzleloader. The trick is to position the pad in the thinnest section of the stock--far forward on my stock. Lace it as tightly as possible and then slide the pad into its final and tighter position while distributing the tension evenly on all the laces. It stays put pretty well with this technique.

Guess I missed the part that said it wouldn't work on an AR. Just put mine on my DPMS, curl the front tab under the pad and it clears the charge handle with ease. Laces pull down tight with no slipping. Padding is rather square in profile, could have been contoured better, and kinda stiff. Raises cheekweld up nice and solid, eliminates the one drawback to a carry handle scope mount. Used with a 40mm scope on a standard riser mount with low rings. This works just fine, buy it!

The Blackhawk Cheek Rest is a great product and a great buy from Midway! I installed this on a Weatherby Vanguard and it fits perfectly and really helps with eye height on a large scope! I highly recommend this Cheek Rest!

Great product for shooting with a scope! I like the way this one laces up better than the other Blackhawk cheekrest which uses velcro. It stays more secure.
