Product Information

A twitch of your finger or thumb is all that you need. The Twitch features a pass-through lock bar from which the "kick" of the blade sticks through. By pressing on the "kick", one is able to initiate the opening of the blade. SOG Assisted Opening Technology then takes over to assist the full opening and solid lock up of the knife. Blades are made of AUS 8 stainless steel hardened to 57-58HRC. Includes pocket clip. Covered under SOG's lifetime warranty. Handles are made of anodized 6061-T6 aluminum with a graphite or black finish.

I have a few of these ...

I have a few of these with satin plain edge and graphite handles as well as one in TiNi. These are my favorite knives. The controls work well. The Twitch 2 has an amazing balance of speed, strength, and edge that is pretty much what I look for in a knife. This is a five star product.

Good design, compact and ...

Good design, compact and safe to operate/carry. The knife was my favorite until the dog broke off the assist spring. I contacted SOG about it but got no response. The spring would be easy to replace but it doesn't appear that getting one will be. The knife is still usable but I now carry a Chive. I will attempt to contact SOG again, I would like to repair the knife.

I purchased this knife ...

I purchased this knife because I broke the locking mechanism (plastic) on my Kershaw Scallion and was waiting for a new one in the mail. The blade wanted to spring open in my pocket without the lock. After carrying the SOG I did not go back to the Kershaw when the new lock came in. The SOG is sturdier and better built than the Kershaw. I live on a farm and raise beef cattle so I always need a good knife. The serrated blade is great for cutting bailing string off of 1000 lb. round bales before feeding to the cattle. The edge stays extremely sharp, I have only sharpened the knife once in the last 4 months and that was the straight edge part of the blade, not the serrated part. The Kershaw required constant sharpening, it did not want to hold an edge. The locking mechanism is solid on the SOG. I can pull the knife straight up and out of my pocket, unlock the blade with my index finger, and open the blade with the same finger and not have to flip the knife around. In other words the knife sits in your pocket with the blade pointed up the way a folding knife should. I've also used it to skin several varmint and game animals but I believe the non-serrated blade may prove to be better for the larger carcasses. I've dropped the knife in piles of unmentionable material and it cleans up easily without reduction in operation. I am very pleased and impressed.

These two knives were ...

These two knives were given as gifts. I did inspect them when they arrived, and they appeared to be well constructed, operationally sound, and pleasant looking. I have not heard any negative comments from their owners.
