Heat-treated, wear-resistant metal Pellets are precisely manufactured to ensure nearly identical construction and consistency in weight and size. Super Points are designed for long range shooting.

Technical Information

Airgun Pellets

Material: Lead

Styles: Airgun pellets are available in several styles, all based on the modern "diablo" design. "Diablo" pellets are larger on both ends, and have a thin area in the middle which seperates the head from the skirt, or base.

Wadcutter:

Wadcutter pellets are best suited for plinking and target shooting. Their flat heads make scoring on paper targets easy, and the wadcutter design is widely known for its stability and accuracy.

Pointed:

Pointed pellets are best suited for hunting small game and pest control. Their pointed heads provide maximum penetration.

Dome:

The rounded head of domed pellets decreases wind resistance and allows for maximum down range energy and accuracy. Domed pellets are good for long range (50 meters) target shooting and hunting, and work best in magnum powered air rifles.

Hollow Point:

The hollow point is designed for maximum expnsion at short ranges and low velocities. It combines the stability of the wadcutter design with the increased down range energy of the dome design.

Cylindrical:

The cyndrical pellet is slightly pointed at the tip, tapers in towards the middle, and flares at the base. It is good for hunting and pest control. The cylindrical design makes it one of the most hard hitting pellets available

The form of this pellet is more of a semi-pointed style rather than a true pointed pellet. However, in my experience of checking the velocities at the muzzle and again at 20 yards for each pellet I shoot, I have found that the round nose pellets consistently maintain velocity better than pointed pellets. This semi-pointed pellet does maintain velocity as well as most round nose pellets and better than any pointed pellet tested to date. It also has been consistently accurate in the 12 or so guns I have shot it from. It seems that it offers the best of both styles in one: a sharper profile to possibly enhance penetration, higher downrange velocities for a slight edge in energy delivered to the target and good accuracy. I dont know why Crosman only offers it in a tin of 175 for there is much room to allow it to be packaged 250 to the tin. The end result is a pellet having at best a minimal advantage over the round nosed pellets but costing 50% more per pellet avg. It is a good pellet, I just doubt it offers any significant advantage to justify the increased cost.

I have over a dozen .22 cal. air rifles or pistols, and nearly all of them have shot this pellet fairly well. It yields velocities on par with other pellets in its weight class and it holds that velocity well downrange as is confirmed by my chronograph. It is reliably accurate. It is not nearly as pointed as the other pointed pellets I have used and is sort of a hybrid between a round nose and a pointed pellet. This may account why it is the very best "pointed" pellet in velocity retention that I have ever tested. All pointed pellets lose velocity faster than round nosed styles in all my chronograph records except for this one. Why Crosman only places 175 to a tin is a mystery to me as the tins are far below being even half-filled. 250 to a tin like the other offerings in that tin size would be a much better bargain.

These pellets are adequate but I only gave them 4 stars because they did not give me the best or even satisfactory accuracy in my air rifle. The results in a different air rifle might be different. GAMO Rocket 14.3 grain pellets gave me the best accuracy out of probably a dozen different pellets I tried.
