Worked as advertised. Seems kind of loose since it only has a detent ball attachment, but it worked and stayed put. No jams and brass stayed in a reasonable area. I used it on two different M16A1's

Works well without a ...

Works well without a scope. Detent plug uses scope mount hole for location so you will have to make another hole to use with scope. Made to mount in front of receiver brass deflector, with scope you have to move to rear of deflector but still work well. Still have to chase brass, just not as far. No nice neat piles, but who fell for that one anyway?

I bought this for my ...

I bought this for my Bushmaster A3 16" carbine assuming it would mount right on my removable A3 carry handle, just like it mounts on an A2. It did, eventually, but they aren't kidding when they say it might require minor fitting. I had to cut at least a quarter inch off the plastic block that wedges between the handle and the deflector. Apparently the A3 carry handle size size carry handle is not the same as the A2. It wasn't pretty, but once fitted and installed, it did worked as advertised.
