Contrary to the product ...

Contrary to the product description, these are low-profile base pads that minimize the length of your magazine rather than increase it. They are replacement pads, exactly like the one the 10-shot "Bureaucrat" magazine comes with. They also can be put on regular sized 7 or 8 round Wilson magazines, thus reducing the length that it protrudes from the grip of your pistol. However, these pads lack a catch at the front to prevent them from being over-inserted into the pistol. In most pistols this doesn't seem to be a problem, but in some it possibly could be. If you have any doubt, go ahead and get the low-profile aluminum base pads. They are more expensive, but they are designed to work with 7 or 8 round magazines, and they have the front catch to prevent over-insertion.
