What a surprising cartridge!! With such a low price, my expectations were equally as low. Instead I discovered the best all purpose 22WMR round I have ever fired. In a NEF SS1 bull barrel, this round produces tighter groups and more consistent accuracy when fired though very hot barrels in summer and frosted barrels in winter than the best loads from each of the major brands (no scope adjustments!). The exposed lead HP also delivers the best of both worlds as it does only moderate damage similar to HP bullets in 22LR on small table fare, yet delivers substantial damage to larger game such as coyotes and small hogs out to 150 yards. Some care is required when handling and loading as the lead tips are easier to deform than fully jacketed or polymer tip rounds. This extra gives rewards in the field. As long as these are available, this is my load of choice.

I just tried this ammo in my new Izhmash 7-2 Biathlon and it was terrible. 2 inch groups at 50 yards. Federal produced 1/2 to 3/4 inch 10 shot groups at 50 yds and Remington was 3/4 to 1 inch at 50 yards. Unfortunately, since the Fiocchi was so cheap, I bought a brick of it based on the positive reviews. My fault for not testing a box or two before I purchased. Every gun is different !!!

Recently purchased ...

Recently purchased several boxes of this to try out in my new Sav. 93FVXP. Very surprised by its performance so far. At the 50yd. mark this stuff will cut one ragged 5 shot hole smaller than a dime. At 100 yds. it opens up to around an 1-1/4" or smaller if I use my rest. The scope is a Leapers 3-12x40 Its not the most accurate 22 mag. ammo I have used, but its far from the worst. For the price this is my ammo of choice for paper punching/plinking. For hunting purposes I pull out the Federal or CCI 30gr. Speer HP's. Yes it is a bit dirtier than the others but not really that noticeable out of a bolt action, perhaps in a semi-auto you could tell a bigger difference. I absolutely recommend giving a box or two a try.

I compared this ammo to ...

I compared this ammo to Remington 40gr JHP, Armscor 40gr JHP and CCI Maxi-Mags for accuracy at 50 and 100 yards in a BSA Cadet 12/15 with target sights and the Fiocchi clearly grouped tighter than any of the other. (This Fiocchi is made in the Philippines like the Armscor and seems to share the same bullet, though seating length is different.) The Fiocchi consistently grouped about 2" in this rifle at 100 yards and the rest were well over 3". One interesting thing is that the CCI grouped about four inches lower, indicating to me that it is lower velocity out of the 29" barrel. I don't know the bullet weight of the CCI, which was the runner-up, group wise. No failures to fire, no problems.

Fiocchi 40gr soft points ...

Fiocchi 40gr soft points performed very well in my Savage 93. Accuracy was average, ignition was 100% reliable in my gun, and terminal performance on varmints and small game was excellent; bullets experienced severe fragmentation. This is my "go to" load for the .22 Magnum.

Fiocchi .22WMR 40gr Soft Point ammo. After checking my invoice I purchased 10-50 round boxes for my S&W 651 revolver. Each box had at least one "SQUIB" round. No Powder, Bullet sticks in the barrel. I never experienced this kind of Bad performance from a major manufacture of ammunition before. From now on I will only buy CCI, Win or Rem. Do not buy this ammunition.

This is the best bargain ...

This is the best bargain .22 magnum ammo I have ever used. Measured at 1910 feet per second as advertised. Very accurate, no misfires, and clean burning. Performs exactly the same as Winchester .40 grain SuperX, even shoots to the same point of aim in my rifles. VERY hard to find in stock is my only complaint.

Very good performer on ...

Very good performer on crows at 100yds. My H&R S/S loves this ammo,1 1/2 inch 5 shot groups at 100yds are the norm. Works well in Ruger Single Six but is dirtier than CCI. I will get more when I need more.
