I bought this for a mini-30. Had problems with Rus. ammo. Hard primers. I installed this spring and noticed it didn't have as much tension as the factory spring. Installation is simple , I tried it. Had MORE misfires with it than without it.

I had a 1 out 5 fire with Wolf ammo, changing spring turned that on it's ear. No failures yet, able to save more expensive ammo for hunting.

Bought one of these for my Mini-30. Kept having problems with berdan/russian ammo not firing. Everywhere I read said to replace the hammer spring. Bought one and installed it. NOTE: It is a spring and under tension be careful while installing. If you know what your doing it shouldnt take more than 10 minutes. If not take it to someone who does, shouldnt take long. Tried it at the range and had 105rds (thats all I had on hand) with no fail to fire (factory and non-factory mags). Thats a considerable difference considering before installing this spring I would have every 2nd or 3rd round fail to fire with the berdan primed stuff. I used Golden bear, Tul ammo (124gr hp and 122gr fmj), and some old laquer case stuff. After examining spent casings the recently fired ones have deeper dents in the primers than before as well. Lastly I did notice that the safety now has a more positive "snick" than it did before and takes a hair more pressure to engage/disengage. I would recommend this product to anyone having fail to fire issues. Seems to function well and doesnt require any major smithing. Also appears to be a safe product. I cant say for sure until I can put more rounds thru it.

Works great. If you still get misfires, measure your firing pin's protrusion. If pin is too short, no spring is gonna fix it.

This spring reduced the amount of misfires on hard primers for 7.62 x 39 but did not elminate them completely. One time I put the duds back in the magazine for a second stike after they layed on the ground for a half hour and about half of them fired. If they do not fire on the second strike, it makes me think there is another issue in addition to the primers being hard.

Purchased this sprint after ordering a 2k round brick of wolf ammo. I had hoped this would correct the mis-fire problem with this brand of ammo. It didn't make any difference at all. I still have a 50-50 misfire rate from this particular lot of Wolf ammo. I have used Wolf for years and never had this much trouble with their ammo.

Bought some of the Wolf (Russian) 7.62x39 for the Ruger Mini-30. About 1 in 10 would not ignite due to hard primers. This spring took care of the problem with no apparent change to trigger pull or cycling. You need this spring if you're going to shoot Wolf ammo out of your Mini-30...

I had about a 50-60% fail to fire rate with Wolf ammo. After installing this spring, the Wolf ammo fail to fire rate dropped to about 10-20%. Lower yes but I expect 100% reliability. So much for firing inexpensive ammo, I'm going to have to use American brass.
