Product Information

The Tactical Stock has a full length aluminum bedding block for added strength and accuracy, an adjustable spacer system allowing for .75" of adjustment in length of pull, a rail integrated into the bottom of the forend to mount a bipod and four swivel studs for customized carry options. This stock is designed for use on Savage factory rifles, with blind magazines, produced in 2006 to present with action screw spacing of 4.400" center to center.

I bought this stock ...

I bought this stock becaust I already have a Savage 10 that came with a Choate stock and was very pleased with the stock. However the model 10 came with the stock, 2 cheek risers, and LOP spacers to extend the factory LOP. The Choate stock I ordered from Midway came with insufficient LOP spacers and zero cheek risers. I expected more and will need to purchase additional parts to make this stock work for me.

I've used other choate ...

I've used other choate stocks and they were awesome, so I guess I got a bad one. The bedding was offset, so the barrel sits very angled in the barrel channel and touches the stock, also the aluminum bedding is not centered with the barrel channel. I only received one action screw, and there is no instructions telling you the torque to use. The rear factory screw I purchased as a replacement is too long for the bedding, and if tightened appropriately, the bolt cannot be removed. If it wasn't for the above issues, I am sure I would have rated it 5 stars.

This stock is great, its very beefy, the palm swell fits my hande perfectly. the only issue i had with the stock was that i had to shim the the center feed magazine, no big deal. Directions would have been nice, and dont let the retaining pin fly out when you remove the magazine from the old stack. Overall this is an awesome value!

I dropped my Stevens 200 ...

I dropped my Stevens 200 into this stock as part of my affordable-ish tactical build. Very beefy feel to it with a nice open barrel channel ready to bed and tons of sling points. Mine didn't come with instructions of any kind but the only tricky thing is getting the box mag out and even then it only take a few simple hand tools. Don't forget to measure your screw spacing before ordering this stock so you can order the appropriate model.
