The Millett Tactical Designated Marksman Scope (DMS) is a terrific scope for a variety of applications. Whether hunting for big or dangerous game, or even if you are in law enforcement, this scope will suit your needs. The illuminated circle dot reticle allows for fast and natural aiming while the illumination allows for use in low light. When cranked up to 4x magnification the 1 MOA dot in the center of the circle allows for precision. Millett computer tests all new scopes.

I got one of these for 3 gun matches. I mounted it in a Larue QD mount on my DPMS AP4 .308.The glass is pretty good for the price. A little distortion around the edges but the center is what I look through. The illumination is bright in low light but disappears in bright sun. It doesn't make that much difference as the black reticle is still very visible and quick.It doesn't adjust as it says. Meaning, instead of .25 MOA clicks, it's more like .50 MOA. Once I figured that out, I got it zeroed pretty good.I have shot it on my .308, including having it on and off several times. It still holds a really close zero but I guess that is a testament to the Larue mount also. It was on and off several times and still wacked the steel plate rack at 200 yards easily.My shooting buddy has a Meopta 1x4 and it has better glass. But for the price, I would rather have 3 of the Millets.Probably the only real negative is that for a 1x4 scope, it is pretty large sized. It looks fine on my .308 but gets a bit top heavy looking on a standard AR15.

I bought for AR 15 for 3 gun. Hardly got any use before internals came loose.1. Optical Quality - not bad quality for price. I originaly liked it2. Specifications - field of view was adequate. Not as quick as a halo-dot or Acog but especially good if course of fire stretched beyond 50 yards.3. Durability - internals broke quickly with very limited use. 4. Special Features & Options - I liked the features and reviews above were dead on. Nice features. bulky and didn't hold up5. Warranty & Customer Service - Bushnell bought Millett and warranty is worthless. Cost more to repair design flaw than original cost.6. Value - Poor I liked folks at Millett. I'd never recommend it now with Bushnell buying out Millett.

Mounted on my FNAR .308 with a PEPR mount. One of the internals broke loose the first time I took it to the range, rendering it unusable. After shipping it to Bushnell (who now owns Millett) at my own expense (also with a check for return postage), I received it back in a few weeks with no explanation.Needless to say, call me disappointed. For the money, I would expect more. My Leapers UTG scope works great for half the money.As the others say, the lens covers are worthless.

I put one on a Rock River Lar-15. It has clear optics and tracks well. Zeroed for a 50 yard POI and was cutting holes. Only problem I have with this scope is in bright sunlight cannot notice illumination. Over all it is better than I expected. Will recommend to others.

Good scope for the money, bright, and the reticle is good for quick targeting. I have this mounted on a SIG556 with an American Defense recon-s mount and have routinely driven bullet on bullet at 100 meters. The micro dot center gives this scope added precision for mid-range shots.

Donut Reticle works on running targets, and is great for point of reference. Illumination helps in the timber, and allows for fast acquisition & contrast when needed. Mounted to Rem 1100, 20 Ga, and went 2 for2 on whitetails. Used with Weaver QRW 30mm rings, so look forward to trying it on other set-ups as well.

I like the idea of getting a red dot sight in a low-powered optical scope. As a low-powered variable, it does very well and I'm happy with that. However, I cannot see the illuminated reticle at all if I am outside. I can see it if I'm in the basement of my house, but on even an overcast day I can't tell if the rheostat is set to 11, or turned completely off. There is no visible difference.As a traditional scope it works just fine. Good idea, poor execution.

Overall I am very happy with the sight. It is not super bright in the sun, but the reticle can still be easily acquired. The scope covers are marginal at best, as stated in previous reviews. One thing I did experience was that the battery cover was cross threaded on, and it required quite a bit of torque just to get it off, resulting in some scratches, and a not so pretty notch on the cap. The cap is aluminum, and has a coin slot in it to unscrew it. Enough force was required that it bent the notch. Made in china, but pretty darn good.

Like everyone else, I was worried about reliability at this price range. I now have four of these, including one that has been used on various 308s for over 3500 rounds. Not one problem. This is THE scope for your black rifle. Works great as a "both eyes open" dot sight on 1x and with the 1moa dot is good enough for clay pigeon (sitting on the berm) hits at 300 yards. Try out the MGM switchview lever available here if you own this scope. Folks have been commenting about the dim brightness. This is not a problem with the scope, but the battery. The supplied batteries in my scopes have all been low when received. Replace it with a duracell and it will turn up much brighter. Excellent value, and cheap enough to keep a spare around.

Loved it, until (~300 rounds of .223) it suddenly stopped focusing above 2.5 power. Looks like its filled with water once you go above that. Dismounted it and found a new rattle inside the tube. Sent it back in to Bushnell and it appears to be covered by warranty, but I am on the hook for $10 shipping for a replacement.
