The Pro-Ears ProSlim Gold Electronic Earmuffs have a medium profile cup that is perfect for most firearms. This makes them an excellent choice for the avid pistol shooter or IDPA or IPSC competitor. These are excellent ...

These are excellent performers. Sound is natural and smooth. Attenuation is seamless. They have a high quality, solid feel, and for me, quite comfortable. I have used them for sporting clays and at a high power NRA rifle match. For clays, they did not kick in on shotgun reports from nearby stations; probably just below threshold. Therefore, those reports seemed louder than expected. However, reports from my own gun or others at my station were smoothly reduced to the normal muffed thump. Conversations continued without interruption. Nice. But it was in the highpower match where these things excelled. Range commands were crystal clear. Rifle shots were perfectly attenuated. The slim profile barely interferes with my gun mounts. The only drawback is that the head padding appears to be a bit light in the stitching and will probably be a problem later on. Nearly perfect, but I need to mark them down on that point. Let's say 4.75.

I have had several ...

I have had several different brands and kinds and these are by far the best. You can have them on for hours without having them hurt. The sound quality is good and you can talk while shooing. They don't cut off everything like my old ones did on every shot. Well worth the price.

The Pro-Ears are very ...

The Pro-Ears are very comfortable. The sophisticated electronics don't just shut down at loud noises. They limit the volume of loud sounds while allowing you to hear normal conversation and range commands perfectly. Battery life seems to be quite good. I am hard of hearing and the Pro-Ears allow you to change the gain of the amplifiers to accomodate my hearing loss. I am pleased with these.

I bought my Pro-Ears in ...

I bought my Pro-Ears in 1995 - 15 years ago. They are still in my range bag for every range trip, whether practice, class, sighting in, or USPSA competition. They need new foam mic covers, but other than that, they still work perfectly. They are pricey, but this is one case where you get what you pay for.

I have had several sets ...

I have had several sets of muffs and these are by far the best. The auto shut off is very nice and they work extreamly well. You can talk people that are actively shooting even while shots are being fired. They don't cut out on the bang like my old ones did. Makes working with people much easier.

These are lightweight and ...

These are lightweight and comfortable enough to wear all day. The earmuffs are soft leather and seal well around glasses and are comfortable even in warmer weather. The Pro-Ears electronics work better than any other electronic earmuff that I tried. They limit loud noises without simply cutting off the sound. I can still hear range commands easily even while shooting is going on around me. I am hard of hearing and the internally adjustable speaker gain (in addition to the external, individual volume controls) was a big plus. They appear to be very well made. Pro-Ears does sell very reasonably priced "rebuild" kits to replace the earmuffs when the time comes. They have an external input to accept a radio, iPod or similar if you need. They provide the cable to use this feature too. I highly recommend them.

I picked the ProSlim ...

I picked the ProSlim model since I would not be firing indoors with an extremely loud gun... Where I might want to choose the ProMag. Being slim and light, it is very comfortable and gives amazing noise reduction (28 NRR). I particularly like the ability to increase the volume of ambient sounds, both on the range and in the woods, and still have instant shut down of any loud noise. Works great with both my scoped rifle and shotgun.

I am a law enforcement ...

I am a law enforcement rangemaster and firearms instructor and have been using this product for the last 12 years and there is nothing better. Only gripe is hard to find parts (ear seals etc.) when I need them. Will never buy anything else. You All Stay Safe!
