Product Information

The Hornady Custom Grade New Dimension Nitride 3-Die Set is a great die set for the avid reloader. The set includes a CGND Nitride Full-length Sizing Die, CGND Adjustable Case Mouth Expander Die, and CGND Seater Die with roll crimp. The Sizer Die features Titanium Nitride sizing rings that eliminate case sticking and require no case lubrication. The Sizer Die also features the Zip Spindle, with a series of light threads cut on the spindle and spindle collet. This is designed to eliminate spindle slippage and makes tightening the spindle lock a breeze when making adjustments. The CGND Seating Die features seater adjustment screw, built-in crimper, locking retainer spring, and a floating bullet seater alignment sleeve and seating stem, which pre-aligns the bullet and case before seating occurs. The die set comes packaged with a plastic storage box and includes three Sure-Loc Rings. Shellholder sold separately.

These dies have perfomed flawlesly for me. As well as the other calibers I have purchased. Just remember to clean them well before the first time you use them. I have no idea what kind of anti corrosion stuff they are coated with, but it's nasty greasy slimy stuff. One-shot cleaner and dry lube did a fine job.

I have loaded little over 200 rounds with these. Easy to use and works great! Haven't had any problems with them yet and expect too either. They seem to be made very well.

Excellent Dies! Kent Christen said it perfectly for me as well, I recently switched from a Lee Pro 1000 Progressive Press to the hornady L-N-L Press. I have always used LEE Dies in the past and was always quite satisfied with them until I tried to use them in the L-N-L Die Bushings, Then like him I quickly found out the Lee Dies are too short to properly fir in the L-N-L Bushing unless you sink it WAY Deep, then the locking ring is left with barely 1 thread to secure it in place. With the Hornady Dies they are made long enough to eliminate this problem. Also the Titanium Nitride is a really nice added bonus. I'm also now in the process of replacing 11 sets of LEE Dies with these Hornady CGND Die sets. If you ever plan on upgrading to a Hornady Press with L-N-L I definitely recommend buying these dies first, if youre using any other press I would still recommend these dies. P.S. You will need to add a Crimp die to these sets like most other manufactures, I started using Dillon Crimp Dies with my Lee Dies and am now using them with these instead.

While I cant compare these dies to others, I can say that at 25 yards they produce ammo that prints 2 1/2" or less consistently at 25 yards. No feed jams out of my S&W M&P. Not one failure yet in over 1000 rounds fired!

I'm currently using these on a Hornady Lock 'n Load progressive press. I swapped these with a set of Lee dies I used to use when I owned a Lee Loadmaster. I wasn't dissatisfied with the Lee dies, but they are a bit too short to use with the L'nL press (you have to adjust them WAY down to get them to work, especially the expander and crimp dies). That having been said, I'm thoroughly satisfied with these dies. The locking ring works like a charm, once you get the die set up in the bushing. The Lee dies occasionally moved inside of the locking nut as I was trying to remove the die/bushing combo from the press. The titanium nitride is VERY smooth, and you get a positive feel when you're sizing and decapping. The expander die works flawlessly and is easier to adjust than others I have used. The seating die also works flawlessly and seems to pick up less of the bullet lube (I use Lee Liquid Alox) than other dies I have used do. I am slowly replacing my other pistol dies with Hornadys. I'm not dissatisfied with Lee, but they don't fit the press well.

I am new to reloading but these dies are very nice to work with. I guess the biggest benefit to me is I don't have to use case lube. They are easy to set up and they stay at their setting for easy reuse. Plus I got 100 free bullets (plus 6.95 shipping) helps to give me more of an excuse to buy more reloading supplies. Midway USA is great to deal with!!I am a Hornady user for life!!

These dies are perfect as are all of the Hornady dies I've ever had, but why Hornady doesn't include a taper-crimp die is beyond me. After beating my head against the wall trying to figure out why my 45 ACP ammo wouldn't feed, adding a taper-crimp die did the trick. It should be included, but since they aren't charging for something that isn't there it still gets 5 stars.

I've just recently begun reloading and purchased a set of these dies to get started. So far they have worked great. Even though I'm only a self taught beginner, I've had no problems what-so-ever. These dies are easy to adjust and work very smoothly. The seating die is great. Using this seating die and my Lee Challenger press every round I've loaded so far has had a COAL within 15/10,000ths of an inch of the desired length. The fact that Hornady is running a special promotion (I believe for all of 2009) where you are eligible for 100 free bullets (limited selection, you pay shipping, see their website for details) with the purchase of any Custom Grade New Dimension die set is just the icing on the cake. I will definitely be purchasing more Hornady die sets in the future.
