This replacement thermostat was what I needed to put my 1989 vintage Lee melter back in production. It's nice to know that even inexpensive Lee stuff can still be repaired and put back in service rather than just throwing it away. Hopefully now it's good to go for another 20 years.

After more than 20 + years of heavy use, my thermostat gave out on my lee pro pot. In this throw away society, it's nice to be able repair my pot for a reasonable price. No problems were encountered swapping out my thermostat. I am sure that any body can do it. I highly recommend this part, as I am sure that I will be able to wring out another 20 years of service out of it.

Replaced the element and ...

Replaced the element and thermostat on my 1980 vintage Production Pot. No instructions were included, but it ain't rocket science. You will need a quarter inch driver, a Crescent wrench and a pair of pliers or Channel Locks to loosen/tighten the element mounts.(mark the wire leads,[4] with tape)I found it easiest to take the top and bottom plates off the pot to get at the element. Had to bend the new element slightly to fit into the casing holes. All pretty simple really. I did manage to install the thermostat 180 degrees out the first time, but the top plate it's mounted on comes off easily, (4 screws) and loosening the lock nut let me rotate it around. The whole job took about 45 minutes. The refurbished pot melted 10 lbs. of wheel weights in about 24 minutes. Back up to snuff. I don't have a thermometer to check the temp, but could tell there was a difference between minimum and maximum settings. Excepting the valve this basically rebuilds a Lee Pot, hopefully it will last another 29 years! If an instruction sheet was included I would rate 5 stars.

I had to replace my Production Pot Four thermostat and heating element after almost 30 yrs of use. The replacement thermostat has the pot working like it was the first time I used it. Again Lee makes a product that is easy to use and repair and of very reasonable cost.
