If installed correctly, ...

If installed correctly, these work just as well as any other standard base system. The "problems" stated by another reviewer are caused by improper installation. I have had this system for years on several rifles (including a newer model 7) and never had the windage screw come loose or had any problem with the bases or screws interfering with the bolt.

I used this set on a ...

I used this set on a newer Remington Model Seven chamberd in 260 Rem. The quality is excellant. All the screws were the correct length. I mounted a VX3 2.5-8 and am really happy with the setup. Be aware that the earlier production Model Sevens only have one threaded mounting hole in the rear and two in the front. Be sure to buy the correct set for your rifle.

The rear base mount when ...

The rear base mount when correctly mounted with the windage screws to the rear keeps the bolt from opening when reversed about half of the base extends over the action opening also no matter how much you tighten the windage screws they get loose after approx 100 rounds.
