This is a drop-in upper, compatible with any standard LR-308 lower receiver. The upper is fully assembled, headspaced and comes complete with a bolt and bolt carrier assembly. The A3 Flattop upper allows for any optic or iron sight combo desired.

Broke this upper in ...

Broke this upper in according to DPMS and the goups are 1" or less depending on the load spec. that I am working with. I wish it came with a front gas block that has a rail for iron sights, but that is no problem to fix, just remember to get a gas block with a rail height that will match the height of the A3 upper. Check dpms web sight for the correct height and I think Midway carries them. All I can say very light weight, very low recoil, very accurate.

I really like this upper. The complete weighs 8.5lbs with ace skeleton stock, Fulton armory lower, scope and bi-pod. The muzzle break works really well...not much, if any, more recoil than an ar-15 with standard flash suppressor. The best part is its accuracy! Half moa 3 shot groups are no problem if I do my part and that is with federal ammo. I'm sure ragged holes wouldn't be an issue with better ammo and a DMR trigger. If you want a light weight 308 than can do it all, this upper is something you should consider.

Put mine on a Fulton Armory lower, super impressed with how light the whole package is, broke it in according to instructions provided by DPMS, it is shooting excellent groups, I've got tons of five-round groups at one MOA, and lots of 3-round groups that are just one hole in the center of the bull!! So I am really pleased with this upper.

I bought this upper as part of a light weight AR-10 build for use in both short range (relatively) fast target acquisition and long range marksmanship (600 yards) with acceptable terminal ballistics to replace an AR-15. The DPMS upper mounted perfectly on a CMMG lower without any play or rattle. Since I'm a big fan of redundant systems I pulled the original gas block and replaced it with a Picatinny gas block to mount back up irons sights. The upper is performing well. On the irons with factory ammo I'm getting just over 1 minute of angle from the bench, thanks in part to the generous 20 sight radius. The muzzle break is outstanding, reducing recoil enough to allow me to index my nose on the recharging handle for consistent sight alignment. Several AR-10 owners have shot it and all have commented on how well it behaves for such a light and short 308 rifle. The original gas block is the only thing that keeps me from giving this upper five stars, but for someone who wants to use this as purely a scoped hunting rifle I can't recommend this one enough.
