Product Information

This magazine features a body made from .027" aircraft grade certified 17-7 PH stainless steel and is heat-treated for maximum durability and service life. The magazine spring is specially fabricated from high tensile strength wire for enhanced feeding and is able to remain fully loaded for long periods of time without damage. Features a fiber-filled nylon self-lubricating follower and removable base pad.

Technical Information:

Both sides of the tube have witness slots

Follower has an extended skirt to minimize creep from the tube when the magazine is empty

Base pad is designed to provide a sure grip when pulling the magazine from a pouch

Notes on Selecting the Correct 1911 Magazine:

If the grips on your 1911 measure 4" long, you have a Government/Commander length grip

If the grips on your 1911 measure 3-1/2" long, you have an Officer/Defender length grip

No hiccups with various handloads/ammo through Para 1911. These Wilsons are built well enough for .17 to .21 split times, will practice down to .15sec. Always drop and insert w/o issues.

I'm bummed. I thought I was buying high quality when I laid down my money for (4) of these Wilson Combat 38 Super 10-Round magazines. I was very pleased with the quality when I unpacked them and began to use them. Perfect fit, strong springs, they drop out perfectly when empty. But then the original follower in one of the magazines snapped in half and flew out the ejection port and hit me in the head. I had only loaded (and fired) the magazine ~3 times when the follower broke. I know Wilson has a good reputation . . . but if you get a chance to look at the way these followers are constructed, you'll be a little let down. The plastic on the follower is thin and brittle. My original Springfield Armory magazines have steel followers that may not be pretty, but function properly and will likely never snap in half. The rest of the Wilson Combat magazine is constructed very well. The finish on the stainless is about perfect. I can't believe the follower broke. Otherwise I'd have given them a 5 star.

Purchased two of these ...

Purchased two of these mags, the follower in each mag is plastic junk. Would not lock back the slide on a Springfield 1911 in 9mm. One broke after less than 25 rounds, the other hung up so bad it would not let me load more than 4 rounds. Shaved an edge off a tad bit, worked for awhile then broke in two. Call to Wilson, suggested they make a steel follower, as the heat here seemed to make them swell up and cause problems. The service guy basically said tuff cookies.....the plastic one is THE BEST ! Suggested he rethink his response, as I am a paying customer. Cannot depend on these mags for IPSC shoots, certainly never would think of using as part of a defensive rig. Spend the money on McCormick mags....they work!

Works well with no problems in my Wilson 38 Super. Also functions very well as a 9mm mag for my Kimber.

As everyone says the ...

As everyone says the Wilson magazines look great. But, it would not hold the slide back after the last round in my Taurus PT1911. I contacted Wilson they told me I would have to replace my slide stop with one from Wilson. I got a new Kimber and the Wilson magazine would not hold the slide back after the last round. Then I tried it in a friend's old Colt 38 Super, same story. These pistols all work perfectly with the factory magazine.

Would not feed rounds ...

Would not feed rounds 1and 2, (from the top of course). Would make A great 7 round mag, unless you would like the slide to stay open on the last one.

Does not hold open after ...

Does not hold open after last round on Taurus 1911. Called Wilson and they said they were not going to re-design the follower for a Taurus. I though Taurus 1911 was internally mil-spec? I must admit it is very well made and I have always gotten good products from Wilson before.

I've been a loyal buyer ...

I've been a loyal buyer of Wilson Combat magazines, but those days are over. The plastic followers they're using are pure junk. I have two of these magazines and both are currently unusable due to the plastic not holding up and permitting ammunition to stick straight up in the weapon. They desperately need to correct this problem!!
