This unique holster design allows you to forget old-fashioned thumb breaks that slow your draw and complicate reholstering. The patented SERPA Technology Lock engages the trigger guard as you holster the pistol and won't let go until you release it. The release is made using your normal drawing motion, with the trigger finger beside the holster body.

Good Holster

I bought this holster to use as a 3 gun rig for a Para Ordnance P-16-40 double stack. I had to relieve both sides of the upper part of the holster above the trigger guard area. (It is a holster for a single stack and I knew that going in.) Thirty minutes with a Dremel and some 400 grit paper and it works perfectly. I have used a couple of these holsters for Glocks for quite some time for both duty and CCW carry. They are a good secure carry holster at a reasonable price.

Bought one of these for my Dan Wesson C-Bob 1911. 1. The holster fits the weapon and holds it securely. 2. The holster fits me and holds onto me securely. 3. The holster is light. 4. I find the holster to be very comfortable.

I very much like the concept of an open-top holster, especially for concealed carry, but have always been skeptical about their ability to safely and securely retain the weapon until needed, until now, that is. The Blackhawk Serpa CQC holster shown here is spectacular! This lightweight but extremely durable holster will keep your weapon safe and secure until you need it and still allows an incredibly fast and efficient draw. When you insert the weapon into the Serpa, its mechanism locks the pistol solidly into place. You can feel and hear it. The weapon is not going to fall out or go anywhere you don't want it to. To draw the weapon, simply grasp the weapon's grip and allow your extended index finger to naturally contact the body of the holster. From this proper drawing posture, exert a small amount of pressure on the release lever (which is directly under your index finger)as you draw the weapon and it will come out as smooth as a Cuban cigar. With a little practice, you'll be drawing quickly and efficiently in no time. I love it! This design is genius! Another Midway reviewer stated that this is not a good holster for concealed carry. I'd like to know why not. I have a full-size Wilson Combat 1911 .45 and this is is going to be my carry rig. I guess we all have our own opinions and skill levels.This holster comes complete with two removable attachments. One will allow it to be used with your pants belt, and the other converts it into a paddle holster. I'm not a huge paddle holster fan but may give it a shot. The belt attachment is awesome and allows you to cant the holster to suit your desires.Making this awesome holster even better is the fact that it's made in the United States and does not cost a fortune. While so many other holsters on the market today are for the birds, this Blackhawk soars with Eagles.

It was a nice holster, but the carbon on mine was not infused (fibers were still fibers, not hardened plastic) and i knew that the carbon would get caught and cut to shreds on stuff. I returned it. Nice holster otherwise.

I was using a leather Galco - but the 1911 always seemed to stick, I tried to soften the leather - nice for show, but not for tactical. I purchased Blackhawk CQC - WOW - what a difference - smooth extraction, adjustable - a superb design, one note though - the full stainless colt 1911 (gold cup) extracts a lot smoother than the dual tone colt 1911 (combat elite).
