Simply outstanding! The ...

Simply outstanding! The Limbsaver pad exceeded expectations. Installation was simple: cut Remington 700 stock down to my son's LOP minus 1 inch, finish sanded and sealed wood, and slipped pad on. My 12-year-old son can fire full-house 270 Winchester loads (130 and 150 grain bullets on top of max loads of H4831SC)without pain or flinch. Perceived recoil is similar to a 243 Winchester. I'm buying more Limbsaver recoil pads (probably grind-to-fit) for the rest of my rifles.

This easily installed pad increases pull length by about 1", possibly making for better (or, worse) fit to the shooter. When installed on a Winchester 1894AE Trapper (a good fit to the wood) in .45 Colt, recoil with the heaviest loads was effectively dissipated by the pad. However, the soft wall construction leads the pad to flex sideways on the stock, easily becoming lopsided and requiring frequent repositioning of the pad.

Wonderful recoil pad! ...

Wonderful recoil pad! Bought a 300 win mag and before I even shot it I knew I would want some more padding. I have tried my gun without it and after 25 shots over 30 minutes I was done. Went to the range the next day and I could shoot as much as I wanted! Doesn't look the "coolest" but it does its job. Not sure if this was a good investment because I spend a lot more money on reloading components for my 300. A+

For those that commented about the pads turining to jelly, contact Limbsaver Customer Service. Some of the early production units had this happen. They should replace at little or no charge. Remington's R3 was a Limbsaver. Three of mine melted down and they replaced under warranty even though the guns were well out of warranty.

This pad works great. I can shoot the 12 Gauge all day long now. It goes on and comes off easily, but is a shade big for certain guns so I'm picking up other sizes now.

Great recoil reduction ...

Great recoil reduction ..but only lasts a year or so before they "melt" ..no chemicals , etc touched them .. just seem to stick to everything and deteriorate away .. Limbsaver needs to FIX this ..avoid for now

I actually got this with ...

I actually got this with a shotgun I purchased on Gunbroker. I have used it on every 700 Rem that I have and especially my .458 Lott and .416 Rem. I actually set up the eye relief of the 2 previously mentioned rifles with the pad on. I won't shoot the guns without it! I also use this on my Caldwell Lead Sled. It absorbs the recoil and is less wear and tear on your wooden stocks. The recoil has to go somewhere and I use these to absorb it. Excellent Product that I'd HIGHLY RECOMMEND...!!! GOOD SHOOTING...!!!

Great product. I put it ...

Great product. I put it on my Mossberg 500 and it works amazing. The kick is almost nonexistent against the shoulder. I put it to my "slug test" where I shoot off 20 slugs back to back. Normally, after I'm done my shoulder is in pain. I slipped this baby on and WOW!!! What a difference. I could have done at least another 40 easy. And that is slugs... imagine the reduced recoil of buckshot and birdshot. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone. Granted, the slip on is a little ugly but hey, if it works and works well, I don't care how it looks.

This is an excellent ...

This is an excellent product. It has a very soft jelly like feel to it, which does a great job in soaking up recoil. It does not come up to far on the stock and cover up the sling stud. It will add about 1.25" to the length of your stock so keep that in mind it you already have your scope mounted. If you are looking for a slip on recoil pad this is the one.

Really took the bite out ...

Really took the bite out of my 95 45/70, using my reloads which are very close to top of the chart. Couldn't believe the difference this pad made.
