I have a DPMS Vented Free ...

I have a DPMS Vented Free Float Tube on my M4 style AR. It is aluminum with no factory mounting options. I wanted to add a bottom rail and did quite a bit of research but had no luck. The vent slots in the tube interfere with drilling mounting holes. I ended up mounting a 2 inch rail to mount a vertical grip but it was too far forward. I ordered this rail based on the size and judging the distance between the mounting holes in the photos on Midway's web site. This rail is almost perfect. The spacing of the mounting holes allowed me to drill holes in the free float tube without the tube's vents interfering. I did not use the center hole as it is over a vent, but the center hole really is not necessary. This is a very sturdy rail and allows me to mount my vertical grip, and there is plenty of room on the rail if I want to mount a bipod or other accessory in addition to the vertical grip. The mounting hardware worked perfectly as well. It comes with three Allen hex screws and threaded oblong shaped steel plates to cover more area than a nut alone would.

Bought this to use on a ...

Bought this to use on a Colt AR with standard handguards so I could use an offset flashlight mount. Fit great on the front of the top handguard with no modifications required. Looks sharp and functions perfectly for my application.

The 2 3/8" screws that ...

The 2 3/8" screws that were supplied with the mount are short and I had to buy two 1/2" 10/32 screws to make it work on my Bushmaster car handguards. Otherwise, a fine mount

Very nice rail. Great ...

Very nice rail. Great finishing and very durable. Good choice if you are mounting accessories on forend of you AR-15 or other rifles, but the rail covers aren't very comfortable on your hands.
