Militec-1 Synthetic Rust Preventative and Metal Conditioner is a synthetic metal conditioner used by our troops in harsh environments. This rust preventative and metal conditioner provides dry and constant lubrication that prevents jamming and foreign material build-up. Militec-1 bonds with the metal to inhibit corrosion and to make cleaning easier.

Technical Information: Militec-1 Synthetic Rust Preventative and Metal Conditioner

Notes:

Synthetic-based metal conditioner
Viscosity equal to SAE 10 weight oil
Contains no solids, PTFE, solvents, metals, parrafins and does not require agitation before use
Non-hazardous, non-toxic, non-combustible
Protects metal surfaces with a constant impregnated molecular bond, works within the molecular structure of metal and non-metallic firearm surfaces

Uses:

Rust and corrosion protection
Firearm lubrication

Application Instructions (per Militec-1):

Initial treatment, step one: when firearm is clean and dry, apply a light film to all surfaces including the bore. Burnish/polish Militec-1 into exterior surfaces by rubbing rapidly using a cloth lightly dampened with Militec-1. Sparingly apply drops into the action, concentrating on springs, moving parts and metal-to-metal contact areas. Apply to magazine interior and exterior. Leave a very light film of Militec-1 on all surfaces during reassembly.
Step two, firing: fire the firearm enough for it to reach operating temperatures. Militec-1 will continue to impregnate metal through the next two or three applications when the firearm is hot.
After complete applications, the firearm surfaces will be self-lubricating.
If exposure to dust, sand or extreme cold is encountered, wipe away any excess Militec-1. Firearm will continue to be lubricated.
For firearm storage, leave a light coating on all surfaces of the firearm.

The ship I was on brought ...

The ship I was on brought some of this with us in 2005-2006 on a Persian Gulf Deployment. We used this on all of our .50 Cal mounts exposed to heat, dust, rain, and worst of all SALT SPRAY. These weapons were not new or beautiful to begin with, but Militec was able to keep the entire weapon looking like they were just cleaned for at least 2 weeks between wipedowns. This is great stuff for protecting against any of the elements that you may come across.

So far I've only used this on my AR, and it works wonders. I previously used Rem oil, break free, and some other brands, none of them worked like this. I don't have long term experience with this product, but I shoot regularly and I don't intend to store it for more than a month between trips to the range. Once it sinks in after 3 coats the internals are much easier to clean, and I wouldn't feel bad at all taking my rifle out in the rain with this stuff on it. I plan on treating several of my other firearms with it as well. Also, apparently a lot of WA shooters like this, so you know it must be good.

HOLY SMOKES! This stuff is GREAT! I used to have to shoot my .450 Bushmaster, and AR-10 soaking in CLP. I shot over 100 rounds through my treated and dry AR-10 and the action is still smooth as can be, and had no feed jams only after one application. I will never use anything else again.

I used this stuff on my machine guns in Iraq ('06-"07), and never had a problem. The .50 caliber was where I was most impressed. Normally you have to douse the entire bolt/carrier assembly pretty regularly with CLP to keep them running fast and smooth, but Militec kept it going for entire missions without the need to re-oil. I use it on all my personal automatics, and couldn't rate it higher. I've tried allot of oils on lots of guns, and this is the best.

I learned about Militec-1 from a military member in my area who strongly recommended it for AR platform rifles, after having learned to use it while serving in one of the branches.Testing his rifle which had been treated, and comparing it to my new build that had been oiled with standard CLP displayed the difference.While my rifle had a distinctly gritty feel to the charging handle motion, his felt like you were dragging it through melted wax, with barely more sensation than the spring resist of the buffer spring.I then found out that it's the only recommended lube from Barrett and what they include with their rifles.It's already slicked my rifle's action up a bit, but we'll see how it works out after a few heat cycles.That being said, I'm already impressed enough that it's going to end up in at least another of my guns, possibly used for all.

I received a small 1/4 ounce bottle of this stuff at a women on target class I was involved in last summer. The lead instructor said he thought it was the best he had tried. It is so good and goes so far that I have used it in every gun used since then, about 12, and still have about half the bottle left. This stuff seems to penetrate the metal so once it is applied it only takes a drop next time. It is THE stuff for semi-autos of any type. In this part of Washington it has to be good to prevent rust. Feels dry when you wipe it off but you can tell it is working.

Militec-1 is a phenomenal lubricant. When I bought my new sig p220 I was determined to eliminate the friction bearing on the slide and the trigger. I tried Hoppes oil elite, tetra gun grease, tetra gun oil, mili-comm tw-25b, moly based lubricants, Teflon based lubricants, and finally I tried Militec-1. After three applications, pursuant to the directions, the pistol's operation has improved noticeably. Now the operation of the slide is impressively smooth and the sound of metal on metal has been eliminated. The trigger's operation is much smoother and noticeably lighter. Lastly, the accuracy has also noticeably improved as well with an application to the bore. This is a great product. I will purchase it again if I ever run out (one ounce is a lot considering that one drop of militec-1 goes a very long way). Try this product you will be impressed. Don't just take my word for it Google "militec-1" and read a Canadian law enforcement test of lubricants.
