Talley bases are specific ...

Comments about Talley 2-Piece Scope Base Sako Short Action 1, 2, 3 Matte:

Talley bases are specific to each particular rifle, and the bases are therefore very precise per a given rifle. For Sako's with tapered dovetails, the bases are sized per action, but there is a different base required for short mags, and of course the longer IV or V actions. The bases fit the dovetails perfectly and then you choose the height ring you need for your scope and barrel taper. I will add that Talley rings are not as low as other rings. Typically I can clear a 50--that's right a FIFTY mm objective lens with the LOW rings. Occasionally I have had to go to the MEDIUM rings, and although I have some and have used them, I have never had to use a set of the HIGH rings, even with a Nightforce with a 56 mm objective on a Sako with a Heavy Contour barrel.Talley rings and bases are superlative, and I use them on nearly every rig I have.
