My one friend was shooting this load out of his model 700 Remington in a "just for fun" competition and was shooting pretty good group at 100 yds. But after a while, none of these bullets were firing because the primers were set to far in the casing. I do recommend this load, but I would suggest checking the primers first.

Excellent choice for whitetail deer size game! Two deer killed, both at 30 yds with a single shot. Created a devastating wound channel with complete pass-thru on broadside shot through the rib-cage (Best for preventing damage to edible meat) The first one DRT, the second one dropped and then managed to get up and go about 10yds creating a blood trail on both sides of its path of travel before expiring. With solidly lethal hits these bullets tend to be quick and humane killers even when close shots cause core/jacket separation.... primarily so when calibers with more than adequate power for deer size game are used.

By far the best ammunition I have used. My Savage 111 just loves this round! Took a 125 lb Sow from 130 yds; didnt even move an inch, just dropped dead. The entrance was perfect, the damage was minimal, just an excellent round. I will not use anything else except Remington Core-Lokt. Cant wait to try it on buck season opener. If you want a Great round, look no further!

This ammo is fairly inconsistent. Sometimes these bullets go to pieces without hitting heavy bone and don't penetrate well.

I've been shooting this round for years from a Rem. 742 autoloader with good results. found a 1917 Eddystone (for my military collection) took it to the range. Well all I can say, flop. Over all this round seems to like newer guns. Split the box between the 742 and 1917, the 742 @ 200 yards was grouped between 1.5-1.75,as where 1917 was about 6-7.25. I guess I can say the gun will have more people kill than animals, as where I retired it to the safe. would recommend for a newer model gun. In fact took two 8's and a spike with this with some does as well.

Shot my first deer with this ammo. The spike was angled away from me at about 50 yards. The bullet entered the rear of the rib cage and exited through the front leg on the other side. From the exit hole I'd say the bullet expanded properly. He ran about 25 yards and was dead in seconds. Didn't leave much of a blood trail. Everything in the rib cage was mush.

I am 62 and have used Remington ammo all my life starting at age 6. I have always been happy with its performance but the hunting season (2009), I got a chance to shoot at two different bucks. The first was at 300 yds and I shot almost a box and a half trying to hit it, then about an hour later I had a buck come out at 100yds, shot the whole clip and then some, so I thought maybe the scope was off or the gun. So, I set up a target and shot two that were about 1in apart, then shot one more and it was a good 8in to the right and down from the first two. The more I shot, the worse it got until it looked like a shot gun pattern. So, I had the gun checked by two real gun smiths and sent the Leopold to the factory to be checked. Today (9-19-10), I sighted my gun and got the same results, as before. This was over several days and went through 4 boxes. I cannot trust this ammo ready more and thought the hunters should know.

Just good old plain Jane ought six ammo. Used it to sight in my Remington 770 on a cardboard box a couple inches high and center at 100 yards, which is good enough for me. Gave it four stars because I haven't taken any game with it, but I got a good feeling it will get the job done.

I have only used this ammo at the range in my Savage 114 rifle. I shot very tight groups with this ammo out to 100 yards and would say that my rifle liked it better then Winchester Super X ammo. In NY I do not think there would be many if any situations that you would have to reach out beyond 100 yards while hunting. Most of our hunting areas our densely wooded. I would feel very confident deer hunting with this ammo.

I shot a 4 pt with this bullet at 128 yards. It went down in his tracks, took out the shoulder and lungs and lodged behind the other shoulder. I recovered the bullet it mushroomed perfectly.I have used this ammo for years. I get 3/4 groups at 100 yards with a 1 inch drop at 150 yards all out of a Remington 7400 carbine
