This is the best single stage press I have ever used.The priming system makes short order of sizing and priming ammo, but be sure you use a Shell holder with a large enough hole to clear the primer cup. RCBS and Hornady shell holders work well. Lee's caused some issues. The LNL feature make changing function or caliber a breeze, with no adjustment required.I highly recommend the press to anyone reloading.

I used my Lock-N-Load ...

I used my Lock-N-Load press for a year now and have loaded over 3000 rounds of several different ammunition calibers. The press is smooth and sturdy with a much better feel than the old RCBS RS2 it replaced. The quick change L-N-L bushings are the feature that sold me on the press.They are also the chief problem with it! The L-N-L bushings have a tendency to work loose and pop out of the press every 50-75 ram cycles. Happens will all 24 dies I use. The ever so slight movement of the inserts leads to small variations in bullet seating depth and amount of crimp. Never had these problems on my old press. Also the primer catcher does not work. Primers all over the place, all the time. I really wish Hornady had made a provision to adjust the handle length and also position. Running short cases like 45 ACP and 9 MM Luger through a press with such a long stroke and handle is less than fluid. Works better with rifle calibers. I'm replacing this press with a Lee Classic Cast breech lock press for my pistol caliber loading. The Lee's adjustable stroke and handle will make my life easier.

The base is not machined ...

The base is not machined level so it didn't sit flat on my bench. It was angled to one side some. The the linkage has quite of bit of slop to it; enough that I could see the shell holder rotate when moving the handle up and down. I didn't use the primer catch much but when I did, about a third of the primers didn't get caught by the plastic catch and went flying in all directions. My cheap Lee breach lock doesn't have these problems. I also fell that it dosen't have very much leverage. I could full length size about 30 308 cases before I got tired. I loaded maybe 200 rounds on this before I deceided to get a co-ax press and with that I can easily full length size over 200 308 cases in a day. I didn't have the problems some have had with the bushings and seating depth but the ammo I loaded for it was just full metal jacket for a M14 to plink with at the range, not match ammo. My advice is to pass on this press.

Love the press, I Load many different cartridges and really like the bushing set up. The primer system works great as long as you adjust it, mark it and try to not mess with it.

I've wanted one of these since it was a 007. I don't see much advantage to the L-n-L feature since I don't spend that much time threading dies in and out of the press. I feel I can trace some bullet seating repeatability problems to the L-n-L bushing and O-ring. I'm either going to remove the insert from the press or glue the bushing (w/o O-ring) into the press permanently. I'm not having good success with the priming arm but that may be caused by the military cases even after crimp removal. I still prefer my Forster/Bonanza CO-AX press for rifle but his will fill an important spot doing small lots of pistol ammo.

Great quality, Love the long handle, gives great leverage for larger calibers, wish it came with more bushings. but more avail separately. Had to lubricate o-rings on bushings, was giving a bit of trouble unlocking from press. Would recommend to a friend

This press works great. I mounted it to a piece of wood so I can c-clamp it to my table. (I can't bring myself to drill holes in a perfectly good table) The lock-n-load system is awesome. I bought the press with a friend and the interchangeable collars work great. When Im done loading I pull out my dies and he puts in his. I also highly recommend getting the automatic primer feed, it's well worth the money.

Love this press. Very solid and easy to use. Beats my old Pacific which I've had 40 years. It is super smooth. Use it for decapping and resizing, the hardest part and the pacific for seating bullets. I would recommend this press to anyone.

This is a very good press for beginners or short range hunting grade ammo. The ease of which the dies pop in and out with the bushings makes it a breeze to change in literally two seconds. The problem I've noticed though is consistency. In fifty rounds, with a match grade seating die on the same setting, I had as much as 0.003" difference in seating depth. The distribution was pretty even across the 8 different COAL's I got. This will cause a problem if you are trying to seat a specific distance off of the lands, especially within a few thousandths of the lands. You could inadvertently end up jammed into the lands (like mine did). Overall, very convenient press, but not the best choice for precision ammo that must fall within a very tight spec.

Received my classic press yesterday to replace a Lee Pro 1000. Right out of the box the Hornady out classed the Lee in fit, performance and shine! I would highly recommend this press for any one from beginner to expert it will not disappoint!
