Nice accurate bullet. I load this for plinking rounds in my Ruger super red hawk 44 mag. Accurate for about 2 in. off-hand from 25 yds. I also managed to install a gas check on this bullet for full power loads in a Marlin 1894 lever action rifle. To make a gas check groove, you can use your bullet puller with a 0.430 collet ( mine is Hornady). Insert about 1/8 in of the bullet's bottom driving band in the puller's collet fingers. Adjust the action of the puller so you size down the bullet just enough so you can seat the gas check by hand. After seating the gas check, crimp it in place with a Lee bullet sizer. I find that you can fire this gas checked bullet to 1600 fps w/o leading in my Marlin 1894. I've also loaded this for my 444 Marlin lever action rifle up to about 2000 fps w/o problems.

I have used this bullet ...

I have used this bullet extensively in my .44 Special revolvers. My 6" Taurus 441 with a 4x Redfield shoots these into 1.5" groups off of sandbags at 100 yards. I have used them on deer from this gun with very good results. Excellent bullet.

These are an excellent choice for deer. They are very accurate. I have used them for a couple of years with great effect. They penetrate through and through without fail. No leading even when pushed very fast.
