Cast Performance Long Flat Nose Gas Check bullets are cast from virgin alloy and produced in extremely precise and consistent LBT style molds. Optimal hardness from heat-treating prevents fragmentation on even the toughest hide and bone. Cast Performance Bullets are known to not lead your bore and feature a specialized lube allowing bullets to be shot at high velocities.

Very hard cast, no ...

Very hard cast, no leading up to 1800 fps in my Marlin 336C. First choice in cast bullet. 1.5 inch groups @ 1750 fps are not a problem without pressure signs, stout recoil, more than current factory loads!

I could not use these ...

I could not use these bullets in my new Chas. Daly "Little Sharps" rifle. The bullets measure nearly .379 at the gas check. The seated bullet expands the brass case (Winchester) to the point that it won't chamber. Rounds chamber just fine when using .375 jacketed bullets.

These bullets are ...

These bullets are unbelievable! I recently bought a H/R 1871 in 38/55 and tried .375 jacketed bullets and they tumbled badly. A few that were recovered showed zero rifling marks. I then tried the Cast Perf. bullets sized .378 and got groups at fifty yds(with scope) of less than 1/2 inch using loads with H4198 and H4895 chronographing from 1500-1800 fps. There was no leading that I could detect. On a calm day, at 100 yds, seven of nine three shot groups were less than one inch and none were over 1 1/2. The last three groups using H4895, increasing in one grain increments had eight out of nine in 0.8 in. with all nine in 1.1 inches. Needless to say, I've already ordered more. They must have some pretty critical quality control to say the least.

I use this bullet in four ...

I use this bullet in four different rifles. Two are .38-55 antique Remington No. 1 rifles with Winchester brass and two are Winchester Model 1895 .38-72 WCF rifles with Bertram brass. All bullets are seated with a moderate crimp in the front portion of the top lube ring. I buy these bullets in the .380" diameter as it is the correct fit in one of the Model 1895 rifles. For the other Model 1895 I run these bullets through a Lyman #45 sizer to reduce them to .378". (Resizing bullets that have lube in their grooves does not degrade accuracy.) Both Remington single shots perform best with addition diameter reduction to .376". Re-7 powder is best for the .38-55 rifles and Varget produces the best groups in both .38-72 WCF rifles. All four rifles will group this bullet into 1 1/2" or less at 100 yards from a benchrest.
