Optimal hardness from heat-treating prevents fragmentation on even the toughest hide and bone. I load this to 1500 fps from my '92 Puma. Will shoot 1" or less at 50 yds. (adj. open sights) Nothing else I've tried comes close for accuracy. Deadly on whitetail with complete penetration. More consistent than expanding bullets in my experience. Also no leading to speak of in this rifle.

My results are similar to others who gave this product 5 stars. In addition this bullet feeds well in my Marlin 1894 and Rossi 1892 copy and gives me 2" groups at 100 yards. Sept 2010, I shot a bear with my S&W 329PD at an estimated impact velocity of 1050 fps. It entered through the shoulder, passed through the shoulder blade into the chest cavity, and exited 3 feet later, after passing through the liver. The bear got very sick very fast, went only about 20 feet, and expired within about 30 seconds. Post mortem, the bullet wound channel through the liver was about 1 inch in diameter all the way through. I trust this bullet to get the job done.

With top loads using Win. 296 will completely penetrate wild hogs with as much damage as hollow points. I have taken 3 Boar hogs with this bullet and none went more than 30 yards. Excellent performance.

I have used these 300 gr bullets for the last couple of years on Whitetail Deer. I use AA#9 and could not ask for a better performing loading. On all deer shot with this load (total of 3 deer) the lungs were turned to jelly as all were broadside shots of 65 yds, 50 yds and 40 yds in that order. I was optimistic with the performance on deer as accuracy at the range (50yds) gave me outstanding groups centering around the x. My handgun is a Ruger SBH with a Red Dot Scope. I did not even take my shotgun out this past season. Great bullet that I would recommend to anyone who hunts.

This is an outstanding bullet when shot from my 44 mag Ruger Super Blackhawk. I consistently get 1" five shot groups @ 50 yards from a sandbagged rest and have not seen any traces of leading at all, even after 200 rounds. My own penetration tests show this bullet @ 1375 fps, to pass through 8" of hard treated pine with minimal deformation while retaining 98% of its weight. The large meplat gives great shock for stopping power and will pass through any white tail deer @ any angle, bone and all. To get a bullet with this kind of performance, in my experience, one usually has to cast his own.
