A great bullet for competitive shooting or small and medium-sized game, these high-quality cast bullets are composed of 6% antimony, 2% tin and 92% lead with a Brinell hardness of 15. They are rated to 1600 fps without gas checks. The bullet lube is designed for use with smokeless powder, but it will work with blackpowder firearms that have barrels less than 20" long. The alloy is lab text certified before casting. This is not loaded ammunition.

These bullets are very ...

These bullets are very accurate and feed reliably even in my 1911 that tends to be a little finicky. they do lead the barrel some. I tried different velocities from as high as 975 fps down to 800 fps. Leading seemed about the same across the spectrum. After 120 rounds in one session I had to spend some time cleaning lead out of the bore of the XD 45. Not too bad though. The 9mm's of the same brand were terrible for leading and I won't buy them again. The 45's I will buy in a pinch.

While trying to find a good reduced pistol load for my light weight 7 1/2 " Colt clones, I found that the 250 grain bullet had excessive recoil and shot high. The 200 grain bullet shot low and I had poor ignition. I tried this bullet with 4.7 grains of Titegroup and it shot to point of aim, recoil was mild, the powder burned fairly clean and it was very accurate. Another plus is the quality of the castings. I use a Dillon progressive press and inspect all components before I start loading. Out of the 1000 bullets that I ordered, 94% made it through my nit picking inspection. It is also a very hard bullet. I tested it on my home made lead tester and, if you are interested, this is a list of readings I got from .45 bullets made by other bullet makers that I had in the shop. My tester measures the depth that a sharp probe penetrates the sample when an equal weight is applied for 60 seconds.Hunters Supply=.0091"Bonus Bullet=.0094"Meister=.0104"Bear Creek=.0118"Hornady (swaged)=.0169"For Reference:20-1=.0163", 30-1=.0183", 60-1=.0202", Pure Lead=.0352"This is not a scientific instrument and probably has a variance of + or - .002", but it does show that this is a very hard bullet. If you are looking for a traditional looking bullet with good performance, I recommend that you give these a try.
