A great bullet for competitive shooting or small and medium-sized game, these high-quality cast bullets are composed of 6% antimony, 2% tin and 92% lead with a Brinell hardness of 15. They are rated to 1600 fps without gas checks. The bullet lube is designed for use with smokeless powder, but it will work with blackpowder firearms that have barrels less than 20" long. The alloy is lab text certified before casting. This is not loaded ammunition.

They are nice looking ...

They are nice looking bullets and seem to be of good quality. The problem I ran into is that the section in front of the top crimp groove is to large in diameter for my Marlin 1895. I tried seating the bullet at the bottom groove and tried to chamber the round but the lever would not close. I saw a ring on the front of the bullet where the taper stop before the crimp groove. So I seated the bullet at the top crimp grove to see if that would help, but it didn't. I have to slam the lever shut to chamber the round as the round just barely fits. I've never had this issue with any other bullets. And I regularly use 405gr Cast Performance bullets.

I'm very pleased with the ...

I'm very pleased with the performance of these bullets. They are accurate in my rifle, which I consider the true test of any bullet. With open sights in my H&R Buffalo Classic .45-70 I have been shooting 2" groups at 100 yards. Good enough!
