These dies will only work ...

These dies will only work with 6.5x55 brass. I tried using these with the 7.5x54 Mas brass that is available, and they all came out looking like belted magnums. I sent the die set W/fire formed case to Lee to have the problem fixed, and I still have the same issues with the dies.

As already noted, these dies will create an appearance of belted magnums if you use Prvi brass - apparently the die is a tad too small or the brass too thick; but it can be fixed without sending them back. I simply lapped the inside of the sizing die about 1/4" up from the mouth of the die and that fixed the problem. Basically the die is a tad too tight for Prvi brass and it's shaving the brass down when you run it through the sizing die. Other than that, they work great and shot 3/4" group at 80 yards.

As most know who have purchased any rifle in 7.5x54 MAS, you must make your brass from another caliber. The best is Norma or Lapua 6.5x55. As usual with all the Lee dies I own, they work slick and size up the 6.5x55 perfectly. I use the Lee 7.62x54 case length gauge on my Lee trimmer and deburr and have excellent 7.5x54 MAS brass. Don't spend your money on other expensive dies. The Lee dies are the best and the cheapest.
