I gave it 4 stars based on my expectations of value vs. price. My only complaint is with the rings provided. If I did not have a bore sighter, it could have been a very frustrating day at the range. The scope ran out of adjustment before reaching the center (windage). The vertical was ok. I re-centered the reticle and swapped the positions of the rings (front to back / back to front) and it worked. At the range the scope responded to adjustment well and focused clearly on 9 power from as close to about 35 yards and on lower power settings right up to around 10 yards. This scope replaced a regular inexpensive 3-9x32 rifle scope with the hope it would focus on short range targets and it does well it also looks just fine at 100 yards. It is a good value.

The scope seems to be ...

The scope seems to be good quality considering the price. The supplied rings are another story. If mine are the norm, toss them. Using quality rings the scope performs very well for hunting and plinking. The fast focus feature works better than expected and the windage/elevation adjustments are ample for most applications. I would buy again.

Great value for the money. I put 4 out of 5 shots through the same hole once I got sighted in at 50 yards. Others seem to have gripes about the rings, I won't say they're fantastic, but they definitely do the job. If you're expecting more for the price I'd say its unreasonable.

A good value for the money. The included rings will mount the scope to a factory Ruger 10/22 ring base, but they are not a perfect fit. I would recommend a better ring / mount setup.

I ordered this scope for my old Marlin 60. Fit and finish were excellent, and I sighted in at 50 yards. A few weeks later, I took the rifle back out on the range, and I was way off. Found out that one of the rings had come loose from the rifle rail (not sure how, they were tight, and the other one was still tight). I assumed user error. Fixed it and went on my merry way. One month later, I go back out, and discover that one of the wires in the reticle had snapped right at the crosshair. Now there's about a 1/4 minute gap. I don't beat on my guns, so I'm not sure how this would have happened. I'd be reluctant to buy another one of these. Get what you pay for I guess.

Mounted on a Ruger 10/22. clear, holds zero.adjustments seem a little cheap, but work fine. and gets blurry if your eye is not lined up good. Better than expected for the price! Great value, would buy again quick!

As most reviewers state the rings are junk but I did not buy the scope for the rings. I mounted one of these on a 10/22 and have had zero problems. The scope holds zero and I can consistently shoot dime sized, 10 shot groups, at 50 yards. In fact a buddy borrowed my rifle for a rim-fire match and won, the joke was, now we all know what that rifle looks like so everyone keep it off the range at the next match. The adjustments leave a little to be desired, and the glass is not crystal clear, but most people looking for top of the line are not going to look at this scope. If you pick one of these up do yourself a favor and pick up a decent base (I personally am not a fan of tip off mounting) and a good set of rings. I used the weaver peep under integrated type rings, and got into a whole scope set-up but about $55.00 a value that can't be beat, literally.

This is my first Ruger ...

This is my first Ruger 10/22 build and I chose the Simmons because of cost and function. I found it real easy to mount but used different rings. After shooting a couple hundred rounds and running a bore snake through the barrel I found that I had lost my zero and had to readjust again. The next day I had to readjust the scope again because it was shooting high and right. Adjustments are easy and the view was quick to attain but I guess I expected a little more because of the Simmons name. So now I am starting to build another target Ruger and am going with the Weaver scope and rings. Thank you Midway for having quality parts and your shipping is the next best thing to having a warehouse close to me. My items are always at my door within two days, everytime.

For the initial price plus a rebate, this scope can't be beat to mount on a squirrel rifle or for plinking. The clarity and brightness of the optics was excellent for such a low cost scope. Little hard to align image at top magnification but still good. Worth a back-up item to have on hand. May want to use better mounts than what comes with this.
