You get what you pay for. ...

You get what you pay for. In an attempt to save some money on a dedicated receiver for a Marvel 22 conversion that was going to be stripped, sanded, polished and finished I purchased this grip safety based on cost. The part is very rough, almost crude looking. I was not going to spend hours trying to sand one part smooth. It was instantly placed back in the bag and I ordered a replacement. The brand I usually order and pay more money for but very little time prepping for blueing.

I had to do some fitting ...

I had to do some fitting to the internal areas of this part, which I expected. The reason I give it only one star is I purchased a blued part expecting the cosmetic outer areas of the part to be usable. Unfortunately, there was a large raised tooling line down the outer edge of the thumb lever that had to be ground off. This should have been done prior to bluing the part. I plan on refinishing the pistol eventually, so I still used this part. I can't recommend this safety if you don't plan on refinishing it and don't want to do some fitting.

Doesn't come close to ...

Doesn't come close to fitting my Colt 1991A1. Pin wouldn't fit holes in frame. After getting pin to fit safety would only slightly wiggle not rotate the several degrees the original safety would rotate. DON'T BUY it won't fit.

It works. It required a ...

It works. It required a little fitting in two areas. The detent for the plunger is not in the correct location. As a result, there are two "clicks" when returning the gun to "safe." The bluing is thin, and the surface underneath is a bit rough. For those building a "working man's" gun, it is perfect for the price. For those who are picky about details this safety is not for you.
