This All-In-One Universal Bore Guide for centerfire bolt-action rifles features 3 interchangeable chamber tips that fit bore sizes from 17 to 416 caliber. The durable, solvent-proof Bore Guide is made of anodized aluminum and locks into the action in place of the bolt to allow proper cleaning from the breech. This will not fit the ...

This will not fit the Kimber 8400 270 WSM. I contacted the company and they said I needed to get the smaller unit. This is twice I've had issues with their products, and every time they have given me nothing but excuses.It works great on a Remington 700, even thought the tube is about two inches too long. The bolt collar will not fit in the rear bolt opening.

This will not fit all actions. It will only fit actions with bolt diameter .695 - .700. This information is provided in small print. Obviously this is not a Universal Bolt Guide.

Despite the "universal" labeling, this bore guide will not fit a Tikka or Sako action without a special order collar: Available from MidwayUSA or direct from Stoney Point.

This guide works well in ...

This guide works well in bolt action rifles, say, 6.5mm (.264) and larger. It works in my 7x57 (.284) and my 30-06's. This guide is not meant for single shot break open guns like H&R/NEF. It does not fit inside the boltway for my 222 rifle. If the gun's boltway has any fixed obstructions, such as an extractor sticking in the boltway, then the tube may not slide into the action all the way to the chamber. Look inside your gun's boltway to see how this tube might fit. For the guns that this guide DOES function okay, the red tip usually has to be installed after inserting the metal tube through the boltway; this is a little inconvenient, but not a big deal. After cleaning the rifle the red tip is somewhat difficult to remove from the metal tube; you have to pull it off by poking your finger into the loading area (above the magazine) and then pulling on the metal tube. The red tip should have been built as a screw-on tip. This guide DOES work to help you keep solvents out of the gun action; I still stuff large cotton patches into the loading area and magazine to soak up any liquids. The rear end of the tube has a receptacle to pour the solvent on the patch as you push the cleaning rod into the tube and then through the gun; this works well. I place a heavy towel under this guide to protect the buttstock. This guide does a reasonable job in staying locked in place while pushing a patch or brush through the gun. I have not had any leakage problems with it. All in all, I do like this product, use it regularly, and would buy it again. Just be wary that "universal" products never are. For a 222 or 223 bolt gun, I would suggest looking for a guide sized for .17 to .25 calibers.

This is the worst bore ...

This is the worst bore guide I have ever used. I have used several Stoney Point products and never had a problem until now. It's made cheap, it does not seal the chamber so solvent just runs down into your action. I will go so far as to even say I feel Midway should not retail this product... It's that bad

This will not work on Tikka or Sako without special bore guide collar for the Sako and custom collar from Stoney Point.
