Powder residue, lead and bullet lube can build up in your chamber causing feeding and extraction problems. A 45 caliber bore brush is the wrong diameter and too soft to completely remove chamber contamination. The Wilson Combat Chamber Cleaning tool for the 45 ACP is a handy tool has a sturdy Delrin handle and very stiff stainless steel bristles to thoroughly clean the chamber in your gun.

READ THE INSTRUCTIONS FIRST! Yes, the brush is agressive. It cleans the chamber very well. "Over use" could scratch the chamber. Give only 3-4 turns and the chamber will be nice and clean.

Besides working great on my Springfield V16 Longslide chamber I find it also works well for cleaning the carbon out of the cylinder of my Ruger Redhawk in 45 Colt where the bullet head spaces there is just enough room to fit in over the yoke and gets out that pesky carbon with a couple turns.

This is a great product! I had cleaned the barrel of my Les Baer 1911 using solvent, patches, bronze brush etc. as always and I thought the chamber was pretty clean. After examining the chamber using a bright light I saw what looked to be carbon fouling in just the chamber. I tried to remove it with the bronze brush, but it would not budge. I remembered the Wilson Chamber Cleaning Brush I had purchased from Midway USA and decided to give it a try. Wow! after a few twists I looked at the chamber again there was a lot of fine, black, dust-like residue. After a wet patch and dry patch I checked the chamber again. Now it was really clean! This is a must have for anyone that shoots a 1911!!!

Wow, what a piece of junk! I'm a huge Wilson combat fan. All their products are usually excellent. This brush is so aggressive that it scratched the chamber of a heat treated Wilson sst match barrel chamber. It is way to aggressive for regular use. If you had a rusty corroded chamber maybe this would have an application. Then the crimped on threaded shank came off the twisted brush ending its life in my tool box.

I have used this tool for about a year and am pleased with how much "gunk" it gets out of my chamber. I don't know how much gunk it takes to foul a 45 chamber to ineffectiveness, but I'm sure this tools cleans it well enough that I need never worry about it. I was also surprised to find no one else has rated it as good as it is. One note- the package states that it may slightly scratch the inside of the chamber, but it will not affect it's strength. I have not noticed any adverse effect on the chamber or accuracy of the pistol (a 1911). If you have a 45 ACP, you need one of these brushes!

The handle is nice, but ...

The handle is nice, but the brush is too short to fully scrub the chamber of my Springfield .45. And, I found the brush a little too abrasive. I'll be replacing the Wilson brush with one with bronze bristles. I admire and own numerous Wilson products, but all in all wouldn't purchase this item again.
