Ramshot Smokeless Powder is newly manufactured, meaning it hasn't been pulled from loaded ammunition and it's not military surplus powder. Every powder in theRamshot family is double-based and spherical shaped.

Ramshot SILHOUETTE is the choice for competitive shooters in IPSC, IDPA and USPSA. A double-base high performance powder, it’s is an excellent choice for 9mm, 38 Super, 40 S&W and 45 ACP. It has a low flash signature, high velocity, and clean burning properties which also make it the perfect choice for indoor ranges and law enforcement applications.

Other Important Information:

Do not exceed the loads displayed in the reloaders guide.

Never mix any two powders regardless of type, brand, or source.

Never substitute any smokeless powder for Black Powder or any Black Powder substitute.

This powder is great! It is fine grained and meters perfectly in my Redding 3BR. Each drop is perfectly consistent and does not vary.

The powder burns very clean at higher charges, but I did get some unburnt powder at starting loads. I have had this issue with every ball powder, so I cannot fault the powder. If you are loading to powerfactor, you will have no issues.

I've used this powder with 9mm, 9mm major, .38 Special, and .40. I have used jacketed bullets, plated, and cast. This is a great powder and I highly recommend it to anyone!

I use this powder for full power standard and +P loadings for 45 acp. Experimenting with different powder charges levels, I have been able to get down to midway between listed minimum and maximum loadings before I start to get irregular burning. At full power levels, the spent cases are still clean inside and there is almost no smoke or flash. I have found with the lighter jacketed hollowpoints, a good crimp is required and obviously the cases should be full length resized as well. This powder seems to behave similar to Accurate #7 in the way it burns and if you find it is dirty at your preferred charge levels, then switch to ZIP. This will give you 85% of the maximum velocity of Sihlouette and will reliably burn even with minumim charges.

After using in a full size 1911 type pistol, I found unburned powder in the gun. Contacted Ramshot and they recommended a heavier charge and changed the loading chart. I still get unburned powder and a very dirty gun

After searching unsuccessfully for Olin WAP powder for some time, I had a shooting friend introduce me to its reincarnation - Silhouette, from Ramshot. Seems they acquired this from Winchester. As I can't say enough good about the old WAP powder, and this loads and shoots identical, I can't recommend it enough! Thought this might help others trying to find the old WAP powder. You can't beat this powder for 9mm, 40 S&W, and 45 ACP.

Works great in my G20 10mm. Fantastic power and fairly good accuracy. The hotter the load, the cleaner it burns. Just watch for signs of overpressure when tweaking that last bit of power out of your loads. Ya know, flattened primers, Glock smile, etc.
