Product Information

Production of IMR powders dates back over 200 years when the company was originally founded by E.I DuPont. Available for use in many reloading applications, the IMR series of powder is trusted by reloaders all across the globe.

IMR SR 4756 is fine-grained, easy-metering propellant has long been a favorite of upland and waterfowl handloaders. Top velocities with great patterns are legendary. Like 800-X, SR 4756 performs extremely well in the big handgun cartridges. Always a top choice.

Important Information:

Do not exceed the loads displayed in the reloaders guide.

Never mix any two powders regardless of type, brand, or source.

Never substitute any smokeless powder for Black Powder or any Black Powder substitute.

I can only say that this ...

I can only say that this is THE most versatile powder I have ever used! I use it in 9mm behind 130g bullets for Production, 38TJ behind 124g for Open, 40 S&W behind 135g HP Nosler's in Limited and 45 ACP behind 230g Rainier HP for Single Stack. It provide incredible accuracy (the 40 and TJ scare me they're so good) with minimal recoil and meter perfectly from my XL650. You simply cannot go wrong with this powder!

Great powder for 9X19MM ...

Great powder for 9X19MM and 38 super. For the 9mm this is the best lead bullet powder I have used. Clean, consistent without signs of overpressure. For the 38 super this is absolutely the best powder for IPSC major power factor. Again it is clean and it is very accurate. Safely makes the USPSA major powerfactor even in short heavily ported guns.5 stars

This is an OUTSTANDING ...

This is an OUTSTANDING powder for medium/large size pistol cases 38/357, 40/10mm, 44mag with LIGHT bullets. It will product phenomenal velocities and accuracy with low pressure readings. HOWEVER it has a very radical and sharp pressure curve. 2 tenths of a grain over max and pressures will go off the chart. It doesn't like heavy bullets. But 1488fps out of a 44mag with 180 grain bullets, holding 1/2 MOA with unreal terminal ballistics. Similar results with 125 grain in the 38/357 cases. A great powder if you like them light and fast. If you are one who likes to shoot heavy bullets at max velocities.. approach max limits with caution. I have seen the results of loads developed with this powder at the range, in the field and one the street.. Good stuff..!

I've had excellent ...

I've had excellent results with this powder in 45 ACP and 45 Colt. Fluffy powder fills the case nicely and burns clean. Average velocity. Better than average accuracy in long (Marlin CB) and short barrels.

This is a very versatile ...

This is a very versatile powder that will work well in most of the handgun cartridges that I have loaded. I find it works very well in 44 Mag with a 240 gr. lead or jacketed bullet. It also meters very well.
