Features include an extra rugged aluminum body, Leupold's DiamondCoat 2 lens coating, 1/2 MOA adjustments, Circle Dot reticle (Turkey Plex reticle available), removable illumination module and flip-open lens covers. The short version is that ...

The short version is that this is a superb sight. The longer version is that it is a sight for a specific set of circumstances. If you want a sight that is quick, this is a good choice. Perhaps it is not as quick as an Aimpoint, but close enough that I cant tell the difference. If you want a precision sight for small groups as 100 yards this is not the best choice but it is somewhat better than an Aimpoint. I have mine on top of a Colt LE6920 and it will stay there.

The Leupold Prismatic ...

The Leupold Prismatic appears to bridge the gap between traditional magnified optics and electronic 1x sights like Aimpoints and Eotechs.The result is a non-magnified optic that's significantly tougher than most magnified optics yet has better light-gathering capabilities than the Aimpoints or Eotechs, coupled with an etched reticle that doesn't need batteries, adjustable focus for reticle sharpness and huge FOV through the optic.I previously owned a Prismatic, but with the Circle-Plex reticle. The DCD (Double Circle Dot) reticle is superior in my opinion. The double circles automatically draw the eye to center the target while the 1moa dot allows for more precision for distance shots. The thicker inner ring stands out in lighting conditions where the small center dot doesn't.The adjustable focus is great for those of us with astigmatism, permitting a sharp and clear reticle (no more distorted blobs as with traditional Aimpoints/Eotechs) and has a locking ring once the adjustment is made.The Prismatic isn't perfect, however. While the etched reticle is usable without the included illumination module, there are times when illumination is desired and you must be careful of the short battery life (250 hours at the lowest setting, my own tests) as there is no auto-shutoff feature.The detachable illumination module uses a press button to activate and control brightness which isn't as fast as a traditional rheostat (not a big deal to me, I just leave it at the lowest setting anyway for my needs).Being an actual optic, the Prismatic does have eye relief (albeit generous) and parallax.For what it is, the Prismatic offers interesting features for those who find a traditional red-dot sight lacking for their needs, I give it 4.5 stars for the short battery life.
