Unfortunately, this book is virtually worthless. It seems to be written for a police department considering training one of their current officers to be their resident "sniper". As a result it focuses on things like; choosing the right person for the job, ethical and legal challenges, some discussion of equipment needs, etc. There is basically no instruction on things immediately related to the responsibilities of a sniper such as hide selection and prep, concealment/camouflage, counter-sniper technique, counter-counter-sniper technique, etc. The entire bulk of the book is 128 pages, including 18 pages of cases studies which are interesting but not very educational. I believe Bartlett is probably a smart and competent sniper, but this book is so lacking in substance that it might mislead those substantially ignorant on the subject, and lull them into believing they are informed.

A great book for the Police Sniper. Derrick is a veteran Police Sniper and has "been there done that". He has trained thousands of Police and Military snipers over the years. This book is not for the civilian market.
