ALICE pack side cars

Molle strapped and ALICE clipped to the sides of either medium or large ALICE Backpack and your in business. Ordered six and five where like new, one was lightly used. The Molle straps slide perfectly into the side webbing on ALICE Packs and the retaining tabs can be ALICE clipped for an even sturdier connection. Think of these as large billow pockets for your ALICE Pack; anything that you would shove into your BDU pants pocket will easily fit into these. If you own an ALICE Pack you need to have at least one of these. My strongest recommendation.

Just what I expected

Bought this to strap on to my large ALICE pack. Bought 2 and they came in barely used condition, so I'm pretty pleased. Bought one at a gun show the week before at about the same price and condition. You can get one on each sied of a lage alice pack, and ads quite a bit of cargo space. You can easily fit 2 nalgenes and 2 MRE's in each.

I ordered two of these. They ended up being a good news/not-so-good news situtation.The good - One of the two appears to have never been used and the other was probably issued to a soldier, but I don't think it ever went into the field.The not-so-good - The design of these is lacking some. The sewing where the straps attach to the pack consist of a double or tripple line of stitching. I would have thought based on every other GI Issue item I have used or seen, that the stitching would follow the 'x' inside a square pattern. I doubt the straps would hold a sustainment load for long as issued. I quickly enlisted the help of a very talented semestress (love you Mom), to add three sides to make a square then add an 'x' in the middle.If it weren't for the stitching, I would have said 4 or 5 stars, but even at 3 stars I would still buy more (and may yet), just with the knowleged that they need a little help.

I ordered two pouches. Based on the 'crease' at the top of the mounting straps, one appeared to actually be used (although there were no signs of any wear-and-tear), and the other did not appear to be used at all. They are larger than I realized (that is a good thing).My only problem (hence the four stars) is there is only a single line of stitching (albeit a very robust one) on each of the four PALS straps anchor to the pack is sufficient. I know I am old-school, but I like the stitching that forms a square/rectangle with an 'x' in the middle. (I promptly enlisted the help of a seamstress to fix that deficiency.). Even with that being said, I'll likely purchase a couple more in the future because the 'fix' is very easy.

Bought two. Both okay at best. One faded. The other looked closer to new. Fabric seemed really dried out. I was afraid the molle strap snaps may rip fabric if not unsnapped carefully. Placed them in the delicate wash and dry cycles with fabric softener and it revitalized the fabric to a degree. Other than that they will serve the purpose I bought them for.

I ordered two of these pouches. One was in great condition. No faded colors and the snaps where intact. The other one was missing three of the four snaps for the MOLLE straps and really faded. So out of the two I ordered I got one that is useable and the other is just junk and in need of serious repair. Now it being faded doesn't bother me, but when it is missing the snaps so I can't secure it to MOLLE gear makes it near useless. I expect minor problems with military surplus, but there should be some quality control for this product so you can get at least functional gear.
