Birchwood Casey's Tru-Oil Gunstock Finish Kit includes everything you need to finish a new stock or to refinish an old stock. The Stock Finish Kit contains: 3 oz Walnut Stain, 3 oz Stock Sheen and Conditioner, 3 oz Tru-Oil Stock Finish, fine, medium and coarse sandpaper, 2 rolls of 00 steel wool, 1 piece of nonwoven cloth, 1 piece of burlap and complete instructions.

Great Product! This was ...

Great Product! This was my first attempt at stock refinishing. The kit had almost everything I needed. I wish it came with a finish stripper. I had to buy the stripper at a local hardware store. I got great results from this kit. It's like I got a new shotgun for $20!

This was my first time redoing a stock. I redid the stock on my Howa M-1500 and it turned out absolutely beautiful. The directions were very easy to understand and all the products you will need came with it. I definitely recommend it for beginners and professionals.

Product contained everything you need to get started and more than enough to do more than one stock. I agree they should include some stain remover, but that is easy to find. Directions are clear and concise, very easy to follow. I highly recommend this product. God Bless.

Really easy to use and ...

Really easy to use and your stock will look awesome if you take your time. Strip your old finish by dipping 0000 steel wool in some denatured alcohol. Then wipe with a clean cloth after it has dried. The Tru-Oil will darken your wood just slightly but after half a dozen coats it will look great. 4 stars because it's not the toughest finish. It will wear if you're not too careful on how you carry your rifle. Over your shoulder with a daypack on and it rubbed a spot on the side of my stock that I had to touch up. Overall, it's good stuff.

Product over all is good ...

Product over all is good older kits have come with stock filler which in older rifles is really needed. They should also include a small bottle if striping solution to remove old finish as sanding does not always remove it. The refinish job turned out fair. as the old finish remained in a few spots.

I didn't think that this ...

I didn't think that this would be so easy to use. You do have to buy some stripper but that is easy. Just take your time and follow the directions and holy cow it will turn out amazing. I tried it on an old beater gun first and its very impressive. I did it on the gun that I intended it for and it's just a great great product. Anybody can do this kit and it will not disappoint!
