I switched from Break ...

I switched from Break Free CLP to Steel Shield about 3 years ago and couldn't be happier. It stays in place better and longer than break free and the guns seem easier to clean after shooting. I don't have experience with other clp's or cleaners, but compared to break free, steel shield wins hands down.

Great product. Cleaned very well was amazed on how well it worked. The smell is awesome like cinnamon. I will now be a loyal weapon shield user. Only bad thing was when I received my package the weapon shield had leaked all over the box. Not a big deal, called Midway and they sent me a new bottle free of charge. Great Customer Service.

The viscosity of the oil ...

The viscosity of the oil is just about ideal as is the smell of it (like cinnamon). It stays put where you want it, and doesn't evaporate off the surfaces quickly in storage like some other non-toxics (Ballistol comes to mind). Because it stays on the metal longer, weapon shield works great to prevent rust; I haven't experienced any rusting since using it (though I employ a multi-layered defense system against rust demons). As a lubricant it's very effective as well and semi-auto slides will feel like they're running on ball bearings. The only category I feel the product is lacking with regard to the CLP reputation is the Cleaning part. I have not been overly impressed by its ability to wipe out fouling after coming home from the range. It gets some of it out with gentle scrubbing, but so will any other gun cleaning liquid. I actually think Ballistol is a better cleaner, but lacking in the two other CLP characteristics. I currently use Weapon Shield in tandem with Bore Tech Eliminator as the main solvent, and the latter definitely does most of the work. I like Weapon Shield, and I'll continue to use it until my 4oz bottle is empty, but I'm not yet convinced that it's the fabled "one CLP to rule them all" that all gun owners relentlessly seek, hence the 4 stars.

Very nice lubricant works as advertised. Keeps the weapon up and makes cleaning the weapon after use easy. Also saves times before weapon inspection / turn in. I will be taking this lube with me overseas this year and look forward to seeing how it preforms in the sand.

I received the free ...

I received the free sample pen, but based on other reviews, I orderd the 16 oz bottle, grease syringe, and 2 oz grease jar. Thet performed as advertised. The CLP cleaned my weapon very well. The CLP pen and grease syringe I like because I can put a little just where I want it and not waste this product. I haven't tried to refill the CLP pen from the 16 oz plastic bottle but by the looks of it, I think I can. I used on my AR-15, 12 ga shotgun, 30-06, and Glock 19 as waited until I got these products to have my range day. It made me excited to clean my weapons. It's a one stop CLP versus Hoppe's cleaning kit which is has a cleaning solvent, then you have to lubricate. My 30-06 is the Remington770 which many review cons is the sticky bolt. Mine was never that sticky to begin with, but after using WeaponShield CLP on it, then small dabs of grease with the syringe and it slides like a charm, I noticed an improvement, my 770 bolt slides smooth, even after a the trigger pull, when it is reported to stick the most. Great product Weapon Shield.

This is the best CLP I've ...

This is the best CLP I've used. I put a light coat of this on the all the internal parts of my 9mm and fired 50 rounds of WWB. When I was done I was able to clean the whole thing with just a rag and some Q-tips. No scrubbing, all the carbon just wiped away and it only took a few minutes to get it completely clean. Also made the gun run very smooth as well. Very good stuff!
