Product Information

This trigger has an aluminum alloy housing with machined and hardened steel work surfaces which are all held to tolerances less than .0005". This ensures durability and repeatable performance. Trigger comes pre-set from the factory at 3lbs and is adjustable from 1-1/2 to 4 lbs. The trigger offers a serrated 3/8" wide trigger for better control and is adjustable for creep, overtravel and backlash. The 510 trigger is unique by design in that the safety blocks the actual trigger instead of the sear, as a result the bolt can be operated with safety "ON". For use in right hand actions only.

One word.....WOW!! I had bought this trigger a few months back while waiting on a custom barrel to be made. I have shot a lot of different custom guns, but none with a crisp break as this trigger. Install was a breeze, no further set up required. It went into an H&S Precision stock no extra modification. It comes "preset" to a 3lb pull. Overall an excellent trigger.

I just purchased two triggers for my Remington 700 rifles. I put a Jewell trigger on my 700 Police and the Timney on my 700 Buckmaster. My advise is to spend the extra $100 and get the best. The Jewell trigger fit perfect with no modifications and no adjustment. The Timney trigger required milling a small amount off the trigger guard and adjusting the trigger pull down to 1 1/2 lbs. I was not pleased that I had to modify the trigger guard on a new rifle. Sometime in the near future I will replace the Timney trigger with a Jewell trigger.

Awesome upgrade after Remington recalled the trigger that was in my gun, and I have heard some negative stuff on the X-Mark trigger. This trigger is so crisp and I would buy it again. Midway has the best prices, thanks for being here for us.

Installation was easy, though the bolt release did need to be massaged to keep from sticking. The trigger shoe is wider than the Xpro trigger which for me was a good thing. Adjustments are easy. Shrank my group....happy.

Timney Trigger transformed my 30:06!

I was never been able to bring my 30:06 "target results" to less than 2 1/2 to 3 inch pattern at 100 yards until I installed this trigger. Now I have a 100 yard range target hanging on my wall at work with a 1 inch spread of 5 shots! Here all this time I was sure it was my gun or my scope. It was the idiot behind the poor factory trigger. I'm going to put Timney triggers on the rest of my rifles now!

Installation somewhat difficult

I recently installed a new TIMNEY TRIGGER on my Remington Model 700. The removal and installation of the trigger itself was relatively easy and straight forward. One thing though, the instructions that came with the trigger were printed on a very small piece of paper making them hard to read and see, especially the photos that were printed on the paper showing the process of removal and installation. I would recommend that you get on the internet and download some pdf instructions so you can zoom in on the photos for a better view.

Some difficulty was encountered while installing the action in the stock after installing the trigger. The "trigger adjustment screw" (front) extended far enough out from the trigger assembly that it didn't allow the action to drop into the stock. Using my Dremmel tool, I modified the internal area of the stock to solve this problem. This isn't difficult, but requires some skill and patience. After that was accomplished, the action dropped in fine, but then I discovered the wood around the trigger area was causing the trigger and "bolt stop" bar to "bind" and so had to do more modifications to the stock with the Dremmel. The "trigger guard" also had to be slightly modified to allow the trigger to move freely. Again, the Dremmel came in handy.

All in all, what should have taken, at most, an hour and a half to accomplish ended up taking about 3 hours, but after it was finished, everything worked fine. I like the wide shoe of the trigger, and even though you have to remove the entire stock from the action to adjust the trigger pull, it is quite easy to do. Take your time, follow the instructions, and have a good set of "brass punches" , a brass hammer, and a Dremmel Tool close by.

I purchased one of these triggers for my 1953 Remington 722 in .222 Rem. as the original trigger was getting creepy and worn. It fit in perfectly and required no effort other than opening the trigger area in the Fajan stock for a little extra clearance.

Love this trigger. I've matched it with my 300 win mag and kept the trigger pull at 3lbs. It has great feel, it was simple to install it and I actually didn't need to do any work on the stock to get it to fit with the factory stock.

I got this trigger a couple of days ago and completed the installation today. I put this trigger in a Remington 5R rifle and the only change I had to make to the rifle was to file about ten thousandths of an inch off the right side, inside the trigger opening. It actually would have worked without any filing but the bolt release button was rubbing a little bit on the side of the trigger guard so I just freed it up. I had no trouble adjusting the pull down to two pounds. I haven't shot the rifle yet but I see no reason why my groups shouldn't improve since the lightest trigger pull I could get on my 5R trigger was about four and a half pounds... This trigger is really easy to install. What I did to keep my sear and spring from jumping around too much, when I removed the original trigger, was roll up a paper towel and put into the action above the sear. On the original trigger the sear and the spring is loose when you drive the pins out but none of this is really a problem. Overall, a great trigger and I'm impressed.

Once installed the trigger functions well. Has no creep, clean break, and no overtravel that I could feel. It only gets 3 stars because the packaging sucked. When it arrived I had to spend some quality time with some needle nose pliers to straighten both the bolt release and the safety lever. No biggie, or permenant damage, just a 100 dollar trigger should come in a box instead of a plastic blister pack.

Bought this trigger to replace the one that came on my Remington 700 SPS as I never got the Mark X trigger to adjust or break with any precision. Timney trigger was good for me right out of the box no adjustment necessary, trigger broke at about 3 pounds. All that was required was to remove a little plastic in the trigger housing of this cheap stock. Also this is the second Timney trigger assembly I have bought, And I am sure it will not be the last, good equipment!!!!
